The Opportunity

The ARC Training Centre for Cell and Tissue Engineering Technologies (CTET) is a newly funded centre led by Monash University in collaboration with the Queensland University of Technology and 22 partner organisations.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to join the project, which aims to revolutionise cancer treatment by re-engineering patients' immune cells to effectively combat their cancers. Specifically, the focus is on CAR-T cell therapy, a cutting-edge form of cancer immunotherapy that has shown tremendous promise in treating certain blood cancers. However, the existing viral-based CAR-T immunotherapy is expensive, complex, and slow to manufacture. To address these challenges and enhance the clinical outcomes of CAR-T cell therapy, the project proposes leveraging the power of nanoinjection technology using nanoneedles for intracellular delivery.

As the successful candidate, you will have a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline, or equivalent qualifications and research experience. You will have previous research experience in flow cytometry, knowledge in intracellular delivery techniques, and a strong background in cellular and molecular immunology.

The Opportunity

The Department of Software Systems and Cybersecurity (SSC) is excited about recruiting multiple early to mid-career academics to join their growing team. The Department is seeking expertise in two important areas including Cloud computing (specialising in cloud infrastructure) and Data engineering (specialising in data management and analytics).

- Cloud Computing - The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Cloud Computing should have expertise in computing power, networking, storage and virtualisation resources needed to enable cloud computing. We are especially interested in candidates whose work focuses on environmental aspects of cloud computing.

- Data engineering - The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Data engineering should have expertise in spatial databases, temporal databases, or streaming databases. We are especially interested in candidates whose work focuses on data management and analytics for urban computing.

These positions will suit active and innovative early to mid-career academics who are keen to develop their academic careers and contribute towards high quality teaching, research, and graduate supervisions. You will have the opportunity to work amongst internationally reputed researchers and educators who focus on IT for social good. Moreover, Faculty members regularly collaborate together on multidisciplinary projects and with external stakeholders (e.g., industry, government). You will also play a major role in our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs and lead research with a strong systems and data engineering focus.

The successful applicants will hold a doctoral qualification in Systems and Data Engineering or a relevant discipline field of Information Technology. We are particularly interested in covering teaching in: Cloud computing, distributed systems, computer networks; or databases, big data, data warehousing, and data processing. The successful applicants will be responsible for the preparation of course materials and delivery of classes and work placement support, where applicable. The Role

The Department is on the lookout for a dynamic Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our collaborative team.
