Implementation Principal Engineer
Job Description and accountabilities.
Working with the Project Manager as the technical Lead during project implementations the Implementation Manager will demonstrate advanced leadership, problem solving and customer service and relationship management skills.
Provide advanced product knowledge, installation and infrastructure skills in the implementations of Amadeus Airport IT common use and self service products.
The Implementation Manager will be responsible for large project implementations and advising our customers of product usability.
The Implementation Manager must be knowledgeable with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.
The Implementation Manager will be responsible for documenting interfaces and managing interfaces across each product scope of project.
The Implementation Manager will be responsible for documenting test plan and test cases for each product in scope of project.
The role will be required to take accountability of the end-to-end delivery of Customer Facing projects, mainly on software, testing and go-live.
This is a customer facing role that interacts within all levels of the client's organization from C Level to technical SMEs. The Implementation Manager will build very strong relationships in the customer organization to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and nurtures future business opportunities.
Leadership and technical responsibilities.
Leadership Responsibilities
Technical manager for large project implementations, with overall responsibility for all installation and configuration activities:
- Creation of implementation plan, working with project manager.
- Provide weekly status report to project manager on progress of implementation.
- Owner of any identified technical issue until resolution.
- Provide timely advice, recommendations and status to project manager.
- Attend and report status at both internal and external project management meetings.
- Attend and report status at both internal and external steering committees.
- Reporting project status back to Head of implementation.
- Work directly with our customers to advise on upgrades, installations and architectural related topics as they relate to our products.
- Participate in pre-sales presentations to our customers to demonstrate our product capabilities.
- On larger projects act as interface and test manager across each product.
Technical responsibilities
- Lead implementation and rollout of common use and self service products. -Facilitate customer testing phases such as Airline Acceptance Testing, UAT, SAT, OAT etc for airports common use and self service products.
- Collect and document specific Customer data/ functional/ technical implementation requirements
- Understanding of airport IT systems, peripherals and software development lifecycles or other relevant experiences.
- Expert Knowledge of Common Use products or other relevant experiences.
- Conduct analysis and contributes to joint product design efforts.
- Support the other teams involved in the SDLC: Business Analyst, QAs, etc.
- Perform commissioning activities of self service equipment prior to airline testing.
- Demonstrate initiative in contributing to problem solving, design solutions and team goals.
- Confident in technical skills and demonstrate substantial independence in the technical area.
- Conduct unit and package tests of the software to ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.- Support, work together with Operations team and customer service teams in case of issues, cutovers etc...
