Job Description
Role Purpose
Wood Mackenzie consulting teams work closely with the leadership teams of leading energy companies to provide support on their most important and challenging projects and transactions. The foundation of our approach is to leverage data and robust analysis to provide actionable advice.Wood Mackenzie is looking to reinforce its consulting team across the Upstream sector.
Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for working within project teams delivering a wide variety of engagements to clients. Based on your experience and aspiration, you will be expected to focus on the Upstream sector. You will work alongside our sector teams of experienced consulting professionals, who are responsible for delivering projects and expanding the range of consulting services.
The position requires the ability to apply industry knowledge to a broad range of strategic consulting projects and client situations.
Your principal responsibility will be focused on delivery of energy consulting mandates. You will provide input into a range of consulting projects, through the operation of sophisticated internal models, developing new analysis and creating presentations and reports.
You will maintain effective and timely communication with clients and present findings clearly and concisely.
Project management responsibilities will be a component of the role, beginning with smaller or more straightforward projects and expanding to larger and more complex engagements over time. You will be responsible for ensuring sound planning and delivery of consulting mandates on time and on budget and managing the contribution of others.
You will play a role in coaching other members of the team, and you will develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders from across Wood Mackenzie.
Finally, you will support senior colleagues to grow of the practice through business and offering development.
Qualifications
About You
- Direct experience in a consulting environment in the natural resources industry
- Direct experience working in Upstream is essential.
- A strong understanding of energy industry dynamics, commercial operations, business models and strategies
- Experience in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:
- Valuation
- Corporate strategy
- Market entry strategy
- Financial Modelling
- A track record of project management and delivery in a client facing context.
- An analytical mind-set and ability to apply detailed knowledge and experience of the above focus industry to a broad range of consulting projects and client situations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in internal and client-facing environments.
- An optimistic attitude and be a collaborative team player
- Financial experience is not essential but would be beneficial
