This is a field-based position for the Cardiometabolic Senior Medical Science Liaison (CVM Sr. Medical Science Liaison) therapeutic area within the US Medical team. The territory is Maryland. In this vital role, you will interact with Cardiometabolic Opinion Leaders and Healthcare decision-makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen's organizational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with healthcare partners to educate and communicate clinical and scientific data to advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen’s organizational goals and objectives.

• Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key partners, advocacy, and access enablers

• Provide in-depth clinical and economic support to payers, IDNs, and formulary committees, while also sharing insights with key internal collaborators on customer trends in interpreting and using value evidence, reimbursement, and payer policy. May serve as main medical point of contact at prioritized local payer, regional payer, and IDN accounts

• Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards

• Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal collaborators

• Implement a scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics

• Develop and implement local OL plans in line with SEP

• Support speaker training as requested and ensure the speakers are updated on new data

• Support Amgen-sponsored research and may serve as a study lead

• Educate potential investigators on the submission process for investigator-sponsored studies

• Lead and/or participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadership

• Lead and support congress activities in accordance with the strategy. May serve as the congress lead.

• Compliantly collaborate with cross-functional colleagues. May serve as the main point of contact

• Maintain clinical savvy and expertise and ensure the timely completion of assigned training. May serve as a training lead, new hire mentor, and/or international MSL mentor or trainer

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree AND 2 years of Regional Medical Liaison experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pharm. D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees are considered.)

• Five years of industry experience in Scientific or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company

• At least three years in a Medical Science Liaison role

• Five or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research. Experience in a medically related field can include post-doctoral training (i.e., residencies and/or fellowships)

• Cardio-metabolic expertise preferred

Salary Range

• Operates and maintains a variety of highly specialized complex equipment which must be calibrated and synchronized to achieve desired results.

As a Supervisory Program Manager (Forensic Science Director), you will:

• Plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, review, and evaluate the agency-wide forensic science laboratory program for the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration Forensic and Digital Science Laboratory (FDSL).
• Supervise a professional staff of forensic examiners and support personnel responsible for the complex, scientific evaluation of physical evidence submitted by Special Agents conducting criminal investigations and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employee conduct cases nationwide.
• Be responsible for the laboratory's sufficiency of operations, proficiency testing and accreditation, and may be required to provide records and/or testimony regarding these areas.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on laboratory issues and decisions and providing oversight on relevant laboratory and diagnostic decisions, commitments, and protocols
• Consult and collaborate with regional and local HIV and STD laboratory managers in Africa; provide technical assistance to agency partners to improve laboratory performance
• Work with laboratory experts from other USG agencies (e.g., USAID and CDC) to develop laboratory guidance for PEPFAR partners
• Serve as agency point-of-contact for one partner country, which entails representing WRAIR/DoD interests in inter-agency meetings, reviewing and assessing overall country performance, and liaising between country team and WRAIR/DoD headquarters.

• Collecting, analyzing, and managing data using molecular genetic laboratory techniques and equipment.

As an Supervisory Social Science Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

1. Provide leadership and direction on scientific, technical and administrative matters.
2. Apply knowledge of administrative and program management principles and skills in carrying out the mission of Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ).
3. Participate fully in discussions and decisions concerning CBHSQ and SAMHSA plans, programs, and activities, both in strategic planning and in the actual determination, allocation, and administration of Division programs, functions, and activities.
4. Plans, manages, organizes and directs all programs, and related dissemination activities of the Branch/Office as carried out by the highly trained and skilled staff of professional statisticians, public health scientists and social science analysts.
5. Analyze and prepare publications, consult on the development of special reports and analyze, and serve as a source of expertise for SAMHSA and the Department.
