Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking a qualified candidate for entry into their Claims Examiner Trainee Program. We are looking for candidates in the Cleveland, OH area. Initial in-person training consisting of 2 two-week training sessions in will take place shortly after being hired. This is an entry level technical position where the candidate will receive training in all aspects of commercial transportation claims and related customer service requirements.

Job Description:

The Claims Examiner will investigate commercial insurance automobile, cargo and general liability claims. Claims will be handled from the initial loss report through final disposition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigation of policy coverage and liability with a detailed analysis of applicable state laws; damage determination for property, commodity, and personal injury claims.
• Responsibilities also include establishing a course of action to conclude claims timely and in compliance with state regulatory requirements. Exposures are to be analyzed and proper reserves established. Escalation of high exposure claims is to be made to management for direction.
• Task assignments to outside vendors are required along with oversight and management of the vendor.
• Communication to policyholders, agents, and underwriting on key claim issues is required. Conduct open claim reviews and work cohesively with other departments to deliver superior customer service and claim service to policyholders.
• Travel may be required to attend training activities.   

Qualifications:

• Prior Insurance experience is not required, but strong analytical skills are required to effectively and efficiently analyze information.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to express complex evaluations and resolve claims through a well-planned negotiation strategy.
• Customer service skills and a willingness to work in a team-oriented environment are essential.
• Computer skills including data entry and a knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are also required.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for the continued development and implementation of the Bancorp's compliance programs and management of the related Compliance Managers and teams, including ensuring compliance with Federal laws and regulations and industry standards. Responsible for providing strategic leadership / direction / oversight regarding the Bancorp's compliance risk management programs, including policies, testing, reporting, and control framework. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing current and emerging regulatory trends and proposing and implementing recommendations or system solutions to mitigate identified risk. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct, Develop and Oversee the strategic aspects of the compliance programs. this includes overseeing policies and procedures, testing programs, and the employee Education programs for the Bancorp.
