Senior Network & IT Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Network & IT Engineer located in WP. Kuala Lumpur.

The Senior Network & IT Engineer will be responsible for network administration, network

engineering, troubleshooting, network security, and network design. The role will involve day-to-day tasks such as managing and maintaining network infrastructure, monitoring network

performance, troubleshooting network issues, implementing network security measures,

designing network solutions and other network related activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain network infrastructure, monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues, enactment and implementation of policies and network security measures, design network solutions and other network related activities.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to end-users in office and business unit environments includes set up and configure workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile
• devices employees, and guidance to end-users.
• Maintain and support all company’s AV and communications equipment which includes set up, configuration and troubleshoots.
• Ensure prompt resolution and timely problem-solving. Escalate key issues to higher levels as necessary.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on IT equipment/hardware and software.
• Support LAN, WAN, and internet services operations of the company.
• Administer, monitor and maintain servers, storage, backup, and network facilities.
• Support service availability, system security, preventive maintenance, and service recovery for servers and infrastructures.
• Develop and maintain system configuration knowledge of IT equipment and hardware facilities.
• Participate, assist, execution in project implementations, coordinating technical requirements, evaluation of vendors, and monitoring of policies and activities.
• Maintain proper documentation of systems and procedures.

Qualifications

• Network Administration, Network Engineering, and Network Design skills
• Troubleshooting and Network Security skills
• Experience in managing and maintaining network and IT infrastructure
• Knowledge of network protocols and technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network and IT issues
• Understanding of network and IT security principles and best practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus
• Ability to provide independent reviews including verification of complex/high risk changes and solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Network Engineering and/or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant working experience in similar capacities.
• Proficiency in English, Malay and Mandarin languages.
