WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT MANAGER

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our team as a Warehouse Assistant Manager for our oil palm company based overseas (Papua New Guinea). This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our procurement and warehouse operations.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and distribution of materials and products.
Implement and maintain efficient inventory management systems to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
Implement and enforce safety and security protocols within the warehouse.
To manage the requisition order by estate and oil mill
To manage the purchase order for local supply
To ensure the accountability for stock items receive & stock issue
To plan & manage the safety stock
To maintain the inventory system by ensuring all the inventory had the proper coordination
To ensure all the inventory flow can be tracked properly
To be responsible for the development of staff by providing training
To ensure that safety and health requirements are met in the warehouse
Responsible for the security of the stock and the warehouse
Responsible for the maintenance of housekeeping in the warehouse
All other assignments assigned by the superior from time to time.
Familiar with machinery spare parts, building material to be added advantage
Continuously assess and improve purchasing and warehouse processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Implement best practices in procurement and inventory management to enhance overall operational effectiveness

Requirements

Possess a minimum SPM &Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 5 years experiences in logistics and warehousing
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to communicate in English, both written and spoken. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important in a multiracial working environment.
Overseas working experience and exposure to plantation industry are added advantages.
Willing to work overseas.

Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels based on business demand and labor budgets.
Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to maintain a high-performing team.

Qualifications and Skills:

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges, resolve customer complaints, and make data-driven decisions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, communicate expectations to staff, and collaborate with management.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire team members.
Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs, handle pressure in a fast-paced environment, and make quick decisions when necessary.

Identify supply & demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competition especially sales program and new products in the market
Maintain professional and technical knowledge relevant to work and self-enhancement by attending training and workshops
Present sales volume, revenue and profit including forecasts to the management for existing and new products

Requirements:

Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
Experience working as a sales representative or sales manager of at least 5 years, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Travel is required, thus flexibility is a must.
Proven ability to drive the sales process from planning to closing
Ability to lead and supervise a sales team by strong mentoring, coaching and people management skills
Experience in customer relationship management
Good business sense in same or similar industry expertise
