Experian is looking for a Product Owner to join our Decisioning team, which is a part of our Experian Software Solutions business. You'll be part of the development of our next generation capabilities designed to help, businesses to make smarter decisions and thrive. As a Product Owner, much of your time will be spent completing requirement analysis, participating in the Agile development ceremonies and planning out roadmaps. More specifically, you will be working with our decisioning product management team translating their vision into a detailed backlog and supporting the engineering team throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Your primary objectives are to ensure the sprint commitments are met, negotiate work with the Engineering and Product teams, manage the scope and deliverables, as well as facilitate internal stakeholder communication about project status and releases. You will own the sprint backlog and ensure all story acceptance criteria is well documented, drive iteration goals via prioritized stories and lead activities related to backlog refinement, design deep-dives and grooming.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take personal accountability for ensuring that team actions and backlog are consistently and fully aligned to the technical needs, strategic needs, and objectives of the business and/or client(s).
- Document requirements for the development team in line with market problems communicated by product management and collaborate with development team to ensure backlog (tickets and Epics) contain the necessary detail to ensure efficient prioritization, coding, testing, and client validation.
- Assessing reported defects, non-functional requirements, and other technical debt, triaging severity and prioritizing resolution alongside feature work, to ensure not only that the product always meets established Quality Criteria, but that quality continuously improves.
- Work closely with technical authors to generate documents and other artifacts describing current and future product features and functions to support implementation.
- Work with internal and external customers to implement and execute on the vision for decisioning identified by Experian's strategy and Product Management organization.
- Regularly prioritize, monitor and track the progress of the team backlog and commitments against targets, communicating this with the team to manage expectations and suggest additional support when needed.
- Present complex information and ideas through open, transparent communication to engender trust and ensure mutual understanding.
- An expert at identifying and acting against complex and distant potential road blockers, holding team members accountable for identifying and addressing individual road blockers to personal progress.
- Consistently demonstrates effective time management across challenging and overlapping projects, supporting others in the team with managing their schedule.
- Lead Backlog Grooming and Sprint Review sessions, while making sure to attend all other sprint events as an active participant.
