Set up stacker and stack printed papers on pallets. Responsible for maintenance and cleaning of press and press room.
What you will do:
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or stackers to be moved and set-up
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets by hand
Operates hand pallet jack, electronic truck, and/or forklift to move articles before or after printing
Monitors stackers for proper operation; stops machine and attempts to correct malfunctions; notifies supervisor of malfunction if necessary
Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist
Conveys materials between department's storage areas, loading areas, and printing presses
Assist press crew with make-ready's and wash-ups as directed by the Lead Press Operator
Cleans machines and work area daily
Makes simple adjustments or repairs to equipment. Assist with press maintenance as directed
Completes job forms and other department documents as necessary
Shares responsibility with team / department members for quality of outputs
Maintains neat and orderly department, implementing good housekeeping practices, including dumping all recycle and trash bins in the pressroom
Work towards becoming a Press Operator Level 2+ while learning the machine operation
Perform all press maintenance as needed
This position may be required to work night and weekend work and the ability to work a 12 hour shift
What you will bring:
Ability and willingness to and successfully become pallet jack, electronic truck, and forklift certified if hired
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous production experience preferred

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand; crawl; kneel; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to frequently required to lift products of up to 50 pounds and move rolls of newsprint over a 12 hour shift

The hourly wage is $17.50.
