This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Office of Communications, Congressional & External Affairs Branch in Washington, DC.
At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Develops and prepares briefing materials on a range of Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) programs.
2.. Establishes and maintains a wide variety of contacts with intergovernmental partners. Attends and participates in meetings, briefings, and conferences on matters relating to assignments.
3. Responsible for developing communications strategies and products, talking points, briefing papers, and messaging that reflects the priorities of the Bureau.
4. Reviews, analyzes, and communicates national policies and procedures.
5. Builds partnerships and fosters coordination and collaboration with key officials, state and local governments, and community groups.
6. Assists in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of proactive strategies to promote the Bureau's priorities, initiatives, and programs to state, local, and territorial governments.
7. Supports the development, modification, or successful implementation of the Bureau's policies, programs, and initiatives based on external insights.
BOEM has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Range Information:
GS-13: ($112,015 - $145,617) per annum.
GS-14: ($132,368 - $172,075) per annum.
First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
