WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Special Projects – prior interns have used their initiative and business acumen to assist on:
creating quote proposals, designing marketing materials, spreadsheet analysis, follow up sales calls, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Design and update client benefit guides as well as other supporting deliverables including presentations, postcards and other print materials, digital graphics, benefits apps, etc.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Utmost attention to detail, especially strong in working with type and checking for spelling/ formatting errors
Strong visual design, demonstrating an understanding of latest trends in color, layout and typography
Strong design skills demonstrating visual layout comprehension and how to follow client brand guidelines
A high level of working knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite including setting up documents with color palettes, paragraph styles and other tools (such as tabs, bullets, margins, bleeds and more) that allow multiple designers to work seamlessly in the same documents
Ability to multitask, stay organized and on task

Comfortable working on a PC

The SSA Internship Program provides individuals who are currently enrolled in or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree, diploma, or certificate in qualifying educational institutions/programs with developmental experiences in the Federal Government. Job Summary
Under general supervision of a Sr. Engineer, the intern will work in a variety of assignments to provide general support to the engineering group.
The intern’s assignments will make a positive contribution to BD Medical as well as give the intern opportunities to gain “hands on” work experience with the intent of training the intern for the potential of starting a successful career after graduation.
This is a part-time internship at BD's Sandy, UT location. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 15 hours per week while also enrolled in school. Candidates must be able to commute to Sandy, UT.
Responsibilities
Provide daily project or emergency support to engineering, operations, or maintenance departments
.Work with production personnel to understand and improve operation of production equipment.
Work with production maintenance to develop the ability to perform routine troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
Assist an engineering project leader by completing technical tasks such as design and solid modeling, coordinating purchasing or assembly of components, and implementing improvements using standard validation processes.
Act as an engineering representative for TPM teams led by the Sr. Electro-mechanics. Intern will help the TPM team identify, isolate, and solve reoccurring production problems.
Intern will learn validation principles through BD validation training and then apply them under the supervision of a project engineer.
Intern will learn the basics of the six-sigma methodology through “Six-Sigma Lite” training and will apply them in day-to-day problem solving.
Act as a team leader for smaller engineering projects or short-term production support projects.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

Minimum Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University/College Engineering program; preferred majors are Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Must be able to commute to BD Sandy, UT office.
