AOC also provides a full suite of resources covering administrative operations, media requests, press liaison activities, webmaster duties, speech writing, live event planning, and social media responsibilities. This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Administrator for Communications (AOC). The incumbent is a direct report to the Manager in the Social Media & Live Events Division, AOC-500. The Social Media & Live Events Division is responsible for identifying and connecting stakeholders through modern, digital means on state-of-the-art platforms enabling the agency to educate and connect with more people through a holistic approach to FAA's digital and outreach strategy. This includes content and search marking, social media, email marketing, as well as marketing automation, animation, editing, and audiovisual in general.
Serves as the Deputy Program Manager of the Social Media & Live Events Division, AOC-500. Organizes programs, projects and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the Office of Communications (AOC). Supervises and directs the work of subordinate employees assigned to the division. Runs the day-to-day management of projects and ensures that they are completed successfully and timely. Projects include coordination of social media campaigns, social media content, content calendars, and Live Events among many other projects.
Analyzes, develops, and presents information relating to strategic messaging approaches intended to educate and inform employees and customers about organizational activities, achievements, events, and accomplishments. Information is developed in the form of live events, blogs and articles, social media, podcasts, multimedia collateral, and various executive communications on platforms for travelers and the public. Conducts all necessary research on technical and general subjects pertinent to the organization, agency, etc. as background information for the preparation of documents and reports. Develops, presents, clarifies, or edits material to develop the best approach to increase employee understanding and clarity of information based on the needs of the audience. Leads by example by being proactive, self-motivated, and creative. Oversees the planning and creating of content and production of special events (Town Halls, Informational Meetings, etc.), marketing emails, digital registration for events, and marketing collateral. Establishes and maintains relations with representatives from various staff offices and lines of business and enlists their cooperation in providing communications content concerning policies, programs, and activities for dissemination to the public and employees and obtains feedback on the quality of these products.
