Our mission at Whole Foods Market is to nourish people and the planet, but also- future talent. We are excited to offer our 2024 Summer Internship Program to purpose-driven students seeking to make a difference in their work and in their community. Our internship program is based in Austin, Texas, down the street from our original Whole Foods Market store. Our interns don’t get us coffee; instead, they enjoy free coffee and tea while working on meaningful projects that impact our internal and external stakeholders.

Internship Program Details:

Our Summer 2024 Internships are paid for 10-weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) between June 3, 2024-August 9, 2024. The internships will be based in Austin, Texas on a hybrid schedule and are not open to remote candidates at this time.

Program Highlights:

• Weekly Summer Event Series: Weekly events for interns to connect with one another and get immersed in the Whole Foods Market culture. Previous events have included distribution center tours, cheese tastings, volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank, supplier visits, women in leadership panel and more!
• Store Stakeholder Connection: Work a 1-day shift in our flagship Whole Foods Lamar store and gain firsthand experience connecting with our purpose.
• Intern Buddy: Opportunity to be paired with a Whole Foods Market team member outside of our team that can be a go to resource during your summer.

About the Team:

As a public relations and corporate communications intern, you will provide additional support to members of the PR and Corporate Communications team. You will perform research as needed and play a role in staying up to date with trends and industry news. You will be charged with drafting press releases. Additionally you will write media pitches, and monitor opportunities to send pitches. This position also involves compiling media lists and assisting with communication, both internal and external.

Receives telephone calls and screens out those which can be handled by supervisor's subordinates or other offices and tactfully refers them as appropriate.

Personally takes care of matters such as providing information concerning special programs and all matters regarding handling of correspondence and meetings of the Regional Director.

Maintains the Regional Director's and may maintain the Deputy Regional Director's and/or Executive Assistant's calendars and schedules appointments and conferences without prior clearance.

Maintains master files of BOP program statements, operations memoranda, policy waivers and program manuals.

May serve as the Administrative Remedy Coordinator and may oversee the Administrative Remedy Clerk and coordinates the regional office's responses to inmate Administrative Remedy Appeals.

Maintains a log of receipt of appeals and assigns to appropriate office for response and follows up to ensure responses are timely.

Prepares semiannual reports for the Regional Director.

If selected, you will serve as the Budget Officer for the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the Central District of California responsible for the supervision of an integrated financial management system to include budgeting, accounting, acquisitions, support services/facilities, and financial reporting. Typical work assignments will include:

• Assigning work to subordinates based on difficulty of assignments and staff capabilities;
• Developing and maintaining an integrated financial planning and reporting system that involves both long-range program plans and the annual budget as a key segment of those plans;
• Monitoring and preparing reports on actual and projected Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) allocations;
• Advising the Administrative Officer and the senior management team on program effectiveness relative to planned financial objectives;
• Preparing monthly financial and budgetary reports for the United States Attorney and the Administrative Officer, and quarterly reports to Executive Office of U.S. Attorney's (EOUSA) Financial Management Staff;

This position serves as the Administrative Officer for the Logistics Service within the VA Health Care System with administrative responsibility, accountability and oversight for the Logistics programs and activities.

The Administrative Officer directly assists the Service's Chief with the management of the operations of the Service; advises on and implements actions to ensure administrative requirements are met in such areas as budget and fiscal management, supplies and equipment management, contract management (must maintain Contracting Officer Representative [COS] certification), human resources management, strategic planning, and program evaluation. • Serves as a manager and exercises ultimate staff responsibility for the design, development, implementation, modification, evaluation, and ongoing operation of Employee Experience Service's complex administrative programs.
