SUMMARY
The User Experience Researcher/Designer will work closely with product managers and developers to identify and prioritize research opportunities to turn applications into something that people enjoy using. This individual will study the user experience and measure how easy it is to complete tasks in an efficient manner while improving ease-of-use capabilities through many different approaches.

Conducts stakeholder interviews, user needs analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing sessions.
Leads and participates in participatory and iterative design activities, including observational studies, customer interviews, and usability testing.
Produces user needs specifications and experience goals, task flows and journey maps, design prototypes, wireframes, and design specifications.
Plans and facilitates analysis and synthesis working sessions and collaborative refinement sessions of UX and design outputs; participate in product planning sessions.
Effectively communicates research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale and goals both verbally and visually.
Designs new interfaces with low and high-fidelity mockups using methods like sketching, wireframing, and/or prototyping.
Communicates with a wide range of digital delivery disciplines and talent.

The Director of MFM Research, under the direction of and in collaboration with the MAHEC MFM Program Director and MFM Faculty will:
Design, implement and direct the high-risk obstetrical research program for the MFM Fellowship Program complementary to and in collaboration with the OBGYN resident and faculty research programs
Implement and direct the MFM Fellow thesis research experience in coordination with the fellowship director;
Assist in direction of the MFM didactic curriculum with specific attention to scholarly activity and evaluation as well as research syllabus.
Coordinate MFM Journal Club and mentor fellows in preparation for Journal Club.
Run the MFM Patient Safety/QI Curriculum, in accordance with the SMFM Curriculum Outline for patient safety and quality for maternal-fetal medicine fellows
Interface with and work closely with the MAHEC Research Department for collaboration/communication
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Note: Percentages listed below represent approximate time spent by responsibility and are subject to change as departmental/organizational requires dictate.
60% Direct the high-risk obstetrical research program for faculty and fellows:
Collaborate with MFM and OBGYN Faculty to establish high-risk obstetrical research priorities;
Design and operationalize research projects in collaboration with MAHEC MFM faculty and fellows;
Direct development of a high-risk obstetrics patient registry, dashboard, and database in collaboration with MAHEC organizational database development
Facilitate collaboration of MFM research with the OB/GYN and Research Departments; and with interested third entities outside MAHEC (Examples include WCU and NC State, UNC) and residents interested in pursuing MFM Fellowship
Collaborate with Mission Hospital and HCA in research and data collection as well as with the respective IRB as appropriate to ensure successful MFM scholarly activity and to support organizational initiatives
Oversee and ensure ethical and legal conduct of MFM research, and ensure compliance with MAHEC policies and procedures
Direct and oversee the MFM Fellow thesis research experience including ensuring projects follow appropriate timelines and reach completion through thesis defense and submission for publication;
Coordinate the thesis defense for the graduating fellow in accordance with ABOG criteria;
Ensure presentation expectations within the MFM Division (e.g., SMFM, ACOG, ABOG, ASHG, APGO, etc.) are met;
Ensure publication expectations within the MFM Division are met in accordance with ACGME expectations for fellow and faculty scholarly activity.
15% Participate in MFM Fellowship Evaluations
Serve as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee
Serve as a member of the Program Evaluation Committee
Run the Fellow Thesis Defense
25% Assist in Directing the MFM Fellowship Didactic Curriculum
Direct the didactic curriculum specific to scholarly activity including research, grant writing, MFM-specific Journal clubs, etc. in coordination with the Fellowship Director
Coordinate Fellowship academics in conjunction with provider clinical schedules
Coordinate GME contracts for external speakers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A PhD degree or professional degree in a health field is preferred, along with experience in program evaluation and project management.

Regular presence on-site is an essential function of this position. The Fusion 360 Machine Learning team is looking for self-motivated, curious, and versatile machine learning researcher who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, complex environment. We are a small, agile applied research team passionate about the impact of artificial intelligence on the product design and manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
Conduct applied research- identifying new and creative ways to apply SOTA methods and frameworks to the design and manufacturing context
Plan research projects to de-risk critical unknowns, document findings and recommend to leadership whether an idea is feasible
Collaborate closely with product management, UX, and engineering teams for all stages of a project- ideation, applied research, prototyping, production-ready models
Collaborate with Data Engineers, ML Engineers and ML Ops to define, develop, train and test new algorithms and models
Work with a wide variety of data (design industry data such as 3D geometry, 2D drawings, simulation output, and design workflow data; and software data such as product usage, logs, and user profile data)
Minimum Qualifications
A degree in a related field (Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a quantitative-related field) or equivalent professional experience
Proficient in Python
Experience working in every stage of model development – experimentation, training, testing, deployment to production environments and monitoring
Familiarity with at least one of the following: large foundation model, multi-modal model, generative model, or 3D deep learning methods
Experience with designing and operating systems leveraging cloud data processing, training, deployment platforms (ex: AWS, Azure, GCP)
Knowledge of standard deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
Comfortable working in newly forming ambiguous areas where learning and adaptability are key skills
Excellent at communicating your findings to technical and non-technical audiences via oral presentations and visual documentation
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectually as a member of team with minimal supervision

Publications in machine learning or related conferences or journals

Position Summary:
Position Summary:Position Summary: This position leads the Office of Institutional Research to
provide leadership, guidance, and service in the fields of research, assessment,
accreditation, planning, and data management in alignment with the institution's mission. The senior university researcher develops and maintains programs and procedures for accurate data reporting to campus departments, various organizations, and state and federal agencies; coordinates the collection, analysis, and interpretation of selected institutional data; provides systems for the dissemination of information; and anticipates various data needs of the institution by providing recommendations, information, and/or data for decision- making, planning, resource allocation, and institutional effectiveness.
Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities):
● Manage the Office of Institutional Research and its budget.
o Maintain the Office of Institutional Research web pages and Public
Tableau data visualizations.
o Act as administrator for the university’s Tableau licenses.
● Provide leadership and support for institutional research activities.
o Provide guidance and oversight to support data standards and
management to include Data Integrity Steering Committee (DISC)
and other collaborative efforts tasked with data maintenance or
changes.
o Coordinate, prepare, and disseminate various institutional, agency,
state and federal reports, including but not limited to IPEDS, SURDS,
NCAA requirements, HLC Institutional Update, NC-SARA, etc.
o Assist with preparation, editing, and proofing of other office research
documents or reports prior to campus-wide distribution.
o Conduct ongoing research and studies to evaluate areas such as
student demography, enrollment trends, and retention in support of
institutional strategic planning.
o Respond to requests for ad hoc reports, integrating internal, peer,
and national data to form consistent comparisons. Prepare data
downloads from the institutional ERP system and other data sources
using a variety of computer interface tools.
o Provide necessary support for university-wide grant proposal efforts
through data collection and compilation.
o Disseminate official results to appropriate external agencies and
audiences including preparing reports, constructing presentations
and/or completing elaborate survey forms, interpreting official
institutional statistics for a wide variety of external agencies as well
as college administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
● Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with constituents.
● Proactive participation in professional development via regional and state
organizations dealing with research in higher education, or other career
enhancement activities.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in educational research, statistics, psychology, sociology,
business, math/science, or related field. Master’s degree or Terminal degree
preferred.
