What You’ll Do

Provide expertise in the areas of technical planning, implementation, and support activities for information systems as part of the Systems Engineering Team. What You’ll Bring

The Simulation System Engineer (SSE) works with in the System Life Cycle (SLC) of a project as the overall technical lead. The candidate functions as a technical specialist using systems engineering and MBSE methods for solving advanced conceptual, network, and software designs for simulators. The SSE works to cover requirement to design to ensure that customers needs are covered and implemented using the  SLC.  As the SLC is worked in phases the SSE is to work with Project Management as well a Project Engineering and other SMEs assigned to the project team.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the coordination, installation, upgrade and conversion or servicing of alarm systems, access controls, video cameras, burglary, radio systems and all other types of physical security equipment within CoStar Corporate Security on an Enterprise Level. This position oversees the design, development, application maintenance of Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Video Analytics, Visitor Management and Records Management Systems at CoStar. This position will be 30% managing technology venders and 70% hands on technical design, build, configuration, and maintenance. This is a hands-on technical position. The applicant must fully understand and have considerable experience managing security access and camera systems, IP networks, Windows OS and Linux operating systems. Further, this position is responsible for the strategic development of Electronic Security System programs and standards, including the identification and application of relevant new technologies to meet changing security needs of CoStar.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate closely with and assist the current Systems Engineer with existing/new projects and system requirements.
• Analyze and design complex/unique physical security technology solutions.
• Defines physical security system standards, policies, required upgrades, maintenance, and day-to-day management of all security systems through system integrators or internal resources.
• Directs external relationships to ensure the viability of all physical security systems, legacy and new, with the goal of minimal business disruption as the result of failed or improperly configured systems
• Read and understand drawings and equipment schematics
• Install, upgrade, maintain, configure, and program all related hardware and middleware.
• Test, troubleshoot and preform necessary corrections to security system
• Monitor and respond to alerts and escalate issues as needed. Provide input to third-party entities for troubleshooting efforts to standardize and to refine processes.
• Capable of collaborating with internal and external departments to ensure capabilities and requirements of network and infrastructure are met.
