The Opportunity:
When a user tries new or updated software and tools or launches a new version of a system, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software tools and work with vendors, engineers, and developers to make sure our team evaluates new and existing tools and software our client utilizes or plans to utilize prior to integration into the existing environment.
As an automated test engineer on our team, you’ll help our Cyber Engineering and DevSecOps team analyze the creation of processes and experiments to test the functionality and performance of a variety of Cyber tools, systems, hardware, and software both on-premises and in the cloud. Throughout the engineering and DevSecOps process for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), you’ll ensure the highest quality using industry-recognized testing tools. You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor health of software and systems. You know the need for “baked-in” security, so you’ll run security scans using tools like ACAS and interpret the results to be fed back in as improvements to the design and architecture.
On our team, you’ll function as part of Test and Evaluation (T&E) Integrated test teams to develop and coordinate evaluation plans. You’ll execute the evaluation plans on data collected by the testing tasks. You'll research new technologies and open-source tools to streamline development, testing, and operational activities. You’ll support the development of Government T&E documentation, including T&E Strategy, T&E Master Plan, Event Test Plans, Test Readiness Assessments, and T&E Reports. You’ll work with other test organizations to support T&E program integration and provide specialized T&E capabilities tailored to system functions, level, maturity, and performance areas. You'll plan and execute performance analysis and review planned acquisition approaches to support T&E schedule alignment with decision maker needs for T&E support. You'll coordinate with program Systems Engineering (SE) and review T&E SE information to leverage functional analysis, system descriptions, parameter selection and dependencies, modeling and simulation, and initial performance risk assessments to inform evaluation planning.

You Have:
Experience with troubleshooting or testing cyber network operations tools and capabilities, including DoD Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) (Trellix) formerly (HBSS), ForeScout, Splunk, Cribl, Palo Alto Firewalls, or ACAS
Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise solutions for Windows or Linux Server
Experience with integrating new and old technologies into existing network configurations and test beds
Experience with configuring and utilizing ACAS vulnerability scanner
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
HS diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, Associate’s degree and 5+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, or Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, or Master's Degree and 1+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities
DoD 8570 IAT-II Certification, including CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP Certification
Ability to complete DoD 8570.01-M Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) or Infrastructure Support (IS) Certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND within 30 days of start date

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts timely sample intake, including receipt, proper identification, storage and return shipments as needed
Conducts testing as assigned utilizing appropriate test methods, protocols specifications and equipment (includes product and/or equipment testing), including adhering to test schedules (e.g. stability pulls, aging pulls).
Conducts data analysis as per protocol or specifications utilizing variety of data analysis tools (e.g. excel, JMP, MiniTab)
Communicate challenges, scheduling or testing conflicts and other issues to management in timely manner
Maintains inventory of lab supplies, including but not limited to; general supplies (e.g. PPE, wipes, cleaners…) and chemicals use for routine testing and/or cleaning
Conducts routine sample disposition (e.g. return to client, disposal), including coordination of hazardous waste disposal
Responsible to maintain the lab and storage areas in a clean an organized manner.
Includes routine lab cleaning
Adheres to ZebraSci Quality Systems, including but not limited to; timely identification, and notification of potential Quality Events (e.g. OOS, Deviations, CAPA…) and the subsequent forward processing and investigation of such events
Follows established Standard Operating Procedures, makes recommendations for edits, enhancements, and/or new procedures
Reviews and may draft equipment or other lab documents (e.g. SLP, LWIs) under supervision from lab management.

Duties & Responsibilities
This role will provide subject matter expertise (SME) in the areas of:
Mechanical and analytical testing development and methodologies for medical devices, materials, and combination products.
Including leading and supporting routine and non-routine USP, ASTM, ISO, and product performance and function testing.
Develop test methods and craft requirements in the subject matter area which follow innovative and industry practices and standards not limited to USP, ASTM, and ISO.
Apply rigorous and innovative approaches for development of test methods for novel and non-compendial product evaluations.
Understand and proliferate standard methodologies as it relates to testing
Be versed in statistical analysis of method outputs, sample sizes related to and used in method validation and design verification.
Plan and support through all project phases, with a focus on the strategy and execution of measurement system development/qualification, design verification and design validation.
Independently support product development projects and effectively define problems, collect, and interpret data, establish facts, draw valid scientific conclusions, and propose solutions or corrective actions.
Craft, edit, and interpret technical drawings and technical reports and write protocols, reports, work instructions, presentations, etc.
Expertly apply engineering principles for design/analysis and complete statistical analysis and sample plan development.

Education & Experience

Key Role:
Collaborate with a team of creative problem solvers to test and evaluate systems through a Whitebox adversarial approach for the DoD in support of our Air Force clients. Work with systems that are assessed based on the NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework security controls. Focus on the filtering capabilities and the data flows, including low levels, within the architecture of the system, including Mandatory Access Controls and Discretionary Access Controls. Build capabilities by learning from others' expertise within our diversely skilled team.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with Cybersecurity, including in an academic environment
Experience with Linux command line, including scripting in Ruby, Python, and Bash, and automating basic tasks
Experience with networking concepts
Experience with virtualization
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Physics, or Mathematics, or 5+ years of professional experience in lieu of a degree
Ability to obtain DoD IAT Level II Compliant Security+ CE Certification within 120 days of start date
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with analyzing and executing test plans and procedures
Experience with developing or analyzing technical documentation
Experience with penetration testing or adversarial emulation
Experience with NIST 800-053 security controls
Knowledge of cyber threats and how to appropriately harden a system to prevent them
