- Guarantee the flight readiness of all assigned flight research vehicles in accordance with approved research project plans and schedules.
- Lead, coordinate, plan, and direct all professional, technical, and administrative functions of for the Flight Operations Directorate's Maintenance Division.
- Provide technical guidance to a staff of over 100 personnel through subordinate supervisors and group leads.
- Oversee flight operations maintenance activities and ensure adherence to all appropriate safety regulations and best practices.
- Formulate long range plans for periodic and isochronal maintenance periods of the Armstrong Support Aircraft Fleet.
- Oversee the assignment of maintenance personnel to Flight Operations projects.
