As a Director, Field Disaster Management Operations Division, you will:
- Manage nation-wide coordination of field level preparedness, response and recovery operations under inter-agency and intra-departmental initiatives in their assigned HUD regions.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local officials and external agencies to provide flexible, efficient responses to disasters and long-term recovery activities.
- Manage communications and information to support the Regional Public Affairs Officer in responding to media inquiries during natural disasters.
- Manage the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of integrated disaster preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery operations for their assigned regions. In conjunction with the Office of Field Policy and Management leadership, ensures the required reports on HQ, Regional and Field efforts are completed, consistent and submitted in the required time frames.
- Manage the development of improvements or designs new work methods and procedures for Mission Assignment operations, in meeting the goals and objectives prescribed by the Office of Disaster Management leadership.
