This position is located in the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) Office of Inspector General (OIG) in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as Counsel to the Inspector General (IG) and serves as the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations (AIGI) in the OIG. The Counsel/AIGI is responsible for investigating serious and often sensitive and complex misconduct or mismanagement allegations involving FLRA employees and contractors as well as allegations and conducting special reviews on matters of importance to our stakeholders and the public.
The incumbent individually prepares investigative plans, interview strategies, and reports of investigation arising under the jurisdiction of the IG Act. The incumbent independently prepares legal analyses of evidence collected from subjects and witnesses during the investigation to be included in the public reports of investigation.
The Counsel/AIGI provides operational oversight of the legal and investigation functions within the OIG, including ensuring legal guidance and documents are properly presented and maintained, investigations are properly planned and executed, and all OIG products are compliant with Federal and FLRA laws, standards, policies, and procedures.
