2D Medical/Progressive Unit is a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit that is committed to the patients we serve. Nurses will care for a wide range of medical diagnosis and conditions and serve as part of a team. We have 24/7 Charge Nurse and Clinical Coordinator support.

Job Duties:

The Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising the staff in their department, programs, budgets, schedules, payroll and equipment.  They are to provide leadership through communication and relationship-building, a strong knowledge of the health care environment and business skills.  The Nurse Manager functions as an extension of the Director of their department by implementing policies, procedures, and standards of the hospital within the unit managed.

The Progressive Care Unit, also known as PCU, is a 32-bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in cardiovascular care nurses will encounter a variety of diagnoses, such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, respiratory issues, sepsis, etc. While working closely with an interdisciplinary team, nurses provide excellent care for a high acuity-based population.  PCU is a great place for nurses to cultivate and expand their assessment skills while managing several drips and other specialized procedures.
 

Qualifications:

Graduate of accredited BSN or MSN program.

Master's degree preferred; If no current Master's degree and not pursuing, must obtain national certification in leadership within 2 years.

Three (3) years nursing experience required.

One (1) year charge nurse or supervisory experience required.

BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA, ARC, or AHSI required.

ACLS required within 12 months of hire.

National specialty certification and/or National certification in Nursing Leadership preferred.

Education, Training, and Experience

About the Unit:

The Observation Unit is a 32-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. This unit cares for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Patient Accommodations Coordinator performs functions including but not limited to pre-registration and registration of patients in Epic, verification of patient demographics to include insurance and prior-authorizations or referrals required by payer, and scanning orders, identification and insurance cards into Epic. Responsible for expediting placement for patients requiring hospitalization (from the Emergency Department and or direct admissions) as well as those patients requiring transfer to a higher or lower level of care within the acute hospital, SNF and Lifespring. This role is pivotal to patient flow, satisfaction, and safety. In addition, this role as many revenue integrity functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma and 2 years medical office experience required; Associate’s degree in medical field preferred, or higher. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and customer service skills. Excellent communication skills are required. Previous experience working independently and autonomously preferred. The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment is essential. General knowledge of office procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital services, and medical insurance preferred. Ability to enter at least 45 words per minute on computer.
