The position serves as a Leader of Drupal Web Development at the GS-14 level and is responsible for overseeing, leading, and managing Drupal web development initiatives within the OCIO Web Development Department, in line with the Institution's mission and goals.

In this position, you will:

• Serve as a leader of Drupal Web Development and is responsible for overseeing, leading, and managing Drupal web development initiatives within the OCIO Web Development Department, in line with the Institution's mission and goals;  leads Drupal web development work for the entire Smithsonian, encompassing coding, designing, and testing web applications, sites, and tools using the Drupal platform.

• Technical project leader, the incumbent oversees web development projects across the Smithsonian, ensuring successful completion and achievement of project goals including the planning and execution of database migrations, query creation, and integration of websites with other systems through API/web service interactions, and XML/JSON creation/consumption; migration of websites/web applications and corresponding data/databases and content from older to newer platforms, including cross-platform migrations, upgrade-migrations from older to newer versions of Drupal, and migration of sites from external hosting providers to the Smithsonian’s hosting infrastructure.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to conceptualize, design, and develop visually engaging, user-friendly, responsive, and Institution-compliant websites in Drupal 9+;  ensures adherence to web and mobile web accessibility considerations, meeting or exceeding WCAG AA 2.0 accessibility requirements to create accessibility-compliant websites using web development tools and techniques, such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Symfony, PHP, HTML5, CSS, SASS, Twig, PatternLab, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, Git, and GitHub, as well as expertise in database management, including SQL to MySQL migrations and query development.

• Provide guidance to the Head of Web Development, information technology staff, and management on existing and emerging web and mobile technologies, products, and trends, focusing on open-source architectures and best practices; collaborates with Smithsonian museums, research institutes, and offices to identify unit needs and related system requirements, conducts technical reviews/formal evaluations of opensource, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and custom-developed automated information systems and lead formal custom application/code reviews of peer/contractor code/programming, advising management of potential issues and opportunities for improvement.

The Auditor is responsible for conducting, managing, reporting and making recommendations in connection with audits. 

In this position, you will:

• Perform major segments of highly complex individual audits (internal or special audits). 
• Review records, reports, statistics, correspondence files, methods, procedures, internal evaluation and audit reports, as well as complete systems in operation, such as accounting, personnel, procurement or grants.
• Prepare and conduct oral briefings on the results of evaluations to top-level officials within and outside the OIG.

The Engineering Technician provides technical assistance, monitors project installation/renovation/construction for the Unit and assists in providing space survey and customer project services.

In this position, you will:

• Review, from a client and end-user standpoint, document technical plans, and project specifications produced by the Smithsonian’s outside architectural/engineering firms to ensure that the Unit’s needs are met.
• Coordinate and monitor work on assigned projects performed in the Unit by other Unit departments, Smithsonian staff or their contractors.
• Develop and maintain for the Unit a master schedule of construction events in the building that minimizes disruptions of ongoing Unit activities.
• Assist in analyzing the space-related impacts of the renovation work on key functions of the building to include exhibitions, research, and collections storage, etc.
• Assist in preparing written reports, especially on decisions that must be approved by the Unit leadership. 

The Supervisory Program Manager is responsible for providing oversight of Exhibit Planning unit and teams at Smithsonian Institution Exhibits (SIE) involved in all aspects of exhibit planning, project management, exhibit and script development and writing/editing support of the mission.

In this position, you will: 

• Perform all major aspects of a supervisor, delegating managerial authority to set plans and schedules for projects. Determine goals and objectives for the project management and production team.
• Serve as technical expert of medium and large exhibit design and production, establishing key timelines, milestones, and deliverables, while overseeing short and long-term projects.
• Apply acquisition techniques and strategies for services outside of SIE, exercising a detailed awareness of technical oversight.  and coordination to source project work.

1.  Provides policy direction, supervises, coordinates and performs audits and investigations related to programs and operations throughout the Smithsonian Institution, as well as outside entities associated or financed by the Institution.  The purpose is to promote administrative economy and efficiency, and to prevent or detect fraud and abuse in programs and operations.
 
2.  Reviews current and proposed legislation and regulations that relate to the Institution’s programs and operations.  Utilizes the semi-annual reporting system required by law to provide feedback on the impact of such legislation or regulations.  Provides comment and recommends changes to improve productivity.  Analyzes economy and efficiency issues related to administration of Smithsonian programs and operations, including those associated or financed by the Institution. Reviews issues related to the prevention and detection of fraud and abuse in programs and operations.
 
3.  Recommends policies and conducts, supervises or coordinates relationships between the Institution and other Federal agencies, State, and local governmental agencies, and non-governmental agencies for the following purposes: to promote economy and efficiency in administration; to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in Smithsonian programs and operations, including those associated or financed by the Institution; and to identify and prosecute participants in such fraud and abuse.

• Supervising the Aeronautics Department, responsible for research, collections, exhibits, and outreach efforts of the department.
