Company: A leading Malaysian financial institution, known for its innovative financial solutions and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Job Summary:
The role is responsible for overseeing the Operational Risk Management (ORM) function at MBSB Bank. This includes implementing and executing the bank's risk management framework to identify, measure, monitor, control, and report on risk exposures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate operational risks to support the enterprise risk management strategy.
- Threat Identification: Detect potential threats and vulnerabilities in business processes and data.
- RCSA Facilitation: Lead Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercises by Business Units.
- KRI and Loss Reporting: Assist in collecting Bank-wide Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Loss Event Reporting.
- Review Procedures: Review new or revised procedures, policies, and products before management submission.
- Risk Assessment of Providers: Provide independent risk assessments for service providers and outsourcing arrangements.
- Operational Risk Review: Validate efficiency and effectiveness of operational risk responses with stakeholders.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure ORM and outsourcing policies comply with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Report and Train: Report risk matters to Senior Management and the Board, and develop risk awareness programs and training.
- Control System: Ensure an effective internal controls system is in place to address major risks.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of Operational Risk or CRO.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Banking, or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 8 years of relevant experience in banking, external audit, or consultancy.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of operational risks, governance practices, internal control systems, and enterprise risk management concepts.
- Skills: Strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, strong communication, and negotiation skills.
- Additional: Ability to manage and motivate individuals at various levels.
