A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to assist and support the Senior Manager, Compliance & Governance and Head of Department, based in Wisma Tune, KL with the following:

Governance Oversight

• Assist to implement and maintain effective governance structures, policies, and processes to ensure organisational compliance with laws and regulations.
• Assist to provide advice and support to senior leadership and departments on governance issues.
• Assist in preparing board papers for governance and compliance, including review documentation of minutes and ensuring timely reporting on governance matters.
• Assist to deal with regulators, law enforcement agencies, external stakeholders, consultants, etc for governance matters. 
• Assist to promote culture of governance and integrity in preparation for IPO listing requirements.

Compliance Management

• Assist to develop, review, and enforce compliance policies and procedures in line with legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
• Assist to monitor and report on the company’s adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls, including compliance and non-compliance matters.
• Assist to conduct periodic compliance review and assessment to identify areas of improvement and potential compliance risks.
• Assist to collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance training is provided to all relevant personnel.
• Assist in compliance assessment, regulatory compliance research & reporting.

Compliance Risk Management

• Assist to identify, assess, and report on governance and compliance risks, ensuring that corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
• Assist to conduct compliance gap analysis review and prepare reports.
• Assist to work closely with Group Risk Management and other teams (e.g., Legal, Audit, Finance) to develop compliance risk mitigation strategies, especially for Corruption Risk Assessment. 
• Keep up to date with developments in laws, regulations and governance trends to ensure the company remains compliant with emerging standards regionally. 
• Assist to maintain a compliance repository.

Regulatory Reporting & Liaison

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory filings and other required reports or documents to authorities (where required).
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors for governance and compliance matters.

Primary Tasks 

• Data collection as well as the merging of datasets from various excel files or Google Sheets
• Ensuring the integrity of the data/information in MS Excel files by making sure there are no errors or mistakes in them

Job Summary:

The Senior Executive, Internal Audit is responsible for assisting in the execution of MRANTI’s strategic, risk-based internal audit plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. This role involves supporting the internal audit function in compliance with the internal audit charter, established frameworks, and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) set by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Job Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to the Development of Risk-Based Audit Plans

• Assist in the development and execution of the annual internal audit plan, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives through comprehensive risk assessments.
• Provide insights into emerging risks and help ensure the audit plan remains responsive to changes in the business environment.

2. Lead and Support Audit Engagements

• Play a key role in the planning, execution, and reporting of internal audit assignments, ensuring adherence to the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and internal policies.
• Lead smaller audit assignments independently, ensuring timely completion, and provide substantial support to larger audits conducted by the team.

3. Root Cause Analysis and Actionable Recommendations

• Assist in conducting root cause analyses of audit findings and contribute to the development of practical, actionable recommendations to strengthen internal controls and enhance processes.

4. Facilitate Collaboration Across Functions

• Coordinate and participate in meetings with various departments and divisions to ensure that audit findings are understood, corrective actions are agreed upon, and collaboration is fostered to ensure accountability.

5. Prepare and Present Audit Reports to Stakeholders

• Prepare clear and concise internal audit reports, ensuring key findings, conclusions, and recommendations are communicated effectively to Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the Board Audit & Risk Committee (BARC).
• Assist in presenting audit results to senior management, addressing their queries and ensuring alignment on necessary actions.

6. Monitor and Update Risk Assessments

• Continuously monitor the business environment to support the timely updating of the internal audit plan, reflecting any significant changes in risks, operations, or control frameworks.

7. Follow-Up on Audit Findings and Corrective Actions

• Monitor the timely implementation of agreed-upon corrective actions stemming from audit engagements and escalate any unresolved issues to senior management and the BARC, where appropriate.

8. Support Team Development and Provide Guidance

• Provide mentoring and support to junior staff, helping them build competencies and develop skills essential to internal audit practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the internal audit team by sharing knowledge and best practices.

9. Uphold Professional Standards and Ethics

• Ensure that all internal audit activities are conducted with a high degree of professionalism, maintaining integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and competence as per the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

10. Engage with Senior Management and Stakeholders

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior management and key stakeholders to ensure the internal audit function remains aligned with organizational needs.
• Act as a liaison during audits to understand stakeholder concerns

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required
• Professional qualifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, ACCA or equivalent qualification. Experience in data analytics and investigation would be an advantage for candidates.
• Possess at least 2 to 3 years of internal or external audit experience.
• Knowledge on internal auditing, internal controls, risk management, finance and accounting practices and methods.
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written English.

Job Description:-

1. Assist in verifying all supplier invoices or others have been approved, processed and taken into accounts timely and accurately for closing purpose.

2. Assist to process payment to all approved supplier invoices within the credit term and in accordance with approved procedures.

3. Perform creditor reconciliations for suppliers to ensure all transactions have been properly taken up and to detect error.

Job Brief:

Performs a variety of clerical tasks and administrative duties such as document processing, record keeping, report compilation, stock inventory and other office support services as directed by Superior.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for administrative procedures associated with recording and collating records for preparation of invoicing, delivery orders and other documents in connection with sales, service and deliveries.
• Maintaining stock/consumables goods control, inventory, stock movement, issues stock and makes requisitions for replacement.
• Handles routine accounting procedures and keeps records of transactions, banking transactions, receipts and statements, Debtors Ageing and collection. Prepares statements and reminder letters.
• Answering and recording daily service complaint calls for further distribution to technical staff.

• Monitor, prepares Service Agreements and contracts and handles documents processing in relation to meter reading.
• Responsible for updating, keeping records of all documents under the scope of the Company's ISO 9001:2000.

Financial Closing

• Perform monthly and yearly financial closing – to ensure all information are proper recorded.
• Perform Balance Sheet reconciliation on monthly basis – to ensure the accuracy and properly classified of transactions.
• Responsible for recharges to and from intercompany.

Account Payables

• Ensure that expenses allocation to business unit and complied with Company Policies and Local regulation.
• Payment process – assembling and verifying the accuracy as well as the completeness of supporting documents of Suppliers’ Invoice with Purchase Order and Delivery Order in procurement system, prepare Payment Vouchers in accounting system and perform payment in the bank electronic payment system on a timely manner to avoid any late payment charge.
• To be the contact point for the vendors on day-to-day financial related issues including reconciliation of the vendors’ ledgers.
• Procurement analysis – to ensure purchases are in accordance to procurement policies and follow up on status of goods received and invoice from vendors.

Contract Management

• Contract management – to ensure compliance with procurement policies.

Others

• Continually update SOPs, check and balance actions, identify and drive accounting and finance process efficiencies and improvements.
• Assist in handling cash flow management, audit and tax matters and liaise with relevant authorities and bodies.
• Involvement and support in projects including accounting related system upgrade or customization, procurement and yearly sub-actions.
• Any ad-hoc duties as and when required.
