What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll join a team that goes above and beyond for their clients. The Estate Planning Assistant is accountable for supporting Head Office and Estate Planning Specialists in all areas of administration, sales and marketing. Key Accountabilities include obtaining insurance quotes, ongoing client service and supporting other projects as assigned.

How You’ll Succeed

• Administration – Review all life insurance applications, change forms or other documents for completeness and accuracy. Forward original life insurance applications and related documentation to the insurance company. Organize & request any underwriting requirements requested by the underwriter. Maintain accurate and complete client files.

• Client Service – Distribute client anniversary statements and notifications to the appropriate Investment Advisor on a timely basis. Follow-up with the Investment Advisors to ensure timely service and reviews are provided to the client when policy anniversary statement and lapse/late payment offer notifications are generated. Respond to client enquiries or direct to the appropriate staff member must be insurance licensed in order to discuss any insurance related items with clients.

• Sales & Marketing – Prepare insurance illustrations using software provided by each life insurance company. Complete electronic and paper insurance applications. Obtain “special” or “enforce” insurance illustrations from the insurance carriers as requested. Plan and organize seminars, lunch and learns, workshops and product launches for clients.

Job Description:

As a Tender Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates and tender documents for construction projects. You will play a critical role in securing new projects by ensuring that our bids are competitive, accurate, and aligned with our client's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.

Tender Documentation: Develop tender documentation, including bills of quantities, pricing schedules, and contract terms.

Bid Coordination: Collaborate with the business development and project management teams to understand project requirements and timelines.

Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing.

Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks associated with the project and propose risk mitigation strategies.

Value Engineering: Suggest value engineering options to optimize project costs while maintaining quality.

Competitive Analysis: Analyze competitor bids and market pricing trends to ensure competitiveness.

Client Engagement: Engage with clients to clarify project requirements and specifications.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all tender documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector, with a focus on tendering.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, costs, and processes.

Proficiency in estimating and quantity surveying software.

Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.

Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Tasks & responsibilities

Take-off quantities from construction drawings. Obtain pricing from various suppliers and sub-contactors. Prepare quotations for submission to clients. Follow up with client's QS to clarify any queries. Prepare work schedule for workers and sub-contractors. Follow up on site variation orders if any.
Monitor site progress and update General Manager. Assist in preparing invoices for submission to client. Assist the sales director in searching construction web-portal for potential new clients. Attend site meetings when necessary. Coordinate with suppliers to prepare samples for submission.

Qualifications & experience

• Bachelor of Engineering / Architecture Quantity Surveyor experience 2 years and above. Skilled in AutoCad and Microsoft Excel. Able to speak and write English fluently. Able to work independently and possess initiative. Willing to learn and work hard.
