Utilising your previous retail experience and excellent managerial skills, you will manage the day to day running of our store - maximising store sales and profits while ensuring our customers receive an excellent service. In doing so, you will be helping to raise funds for Age UK and the incredible services and support they provide to older people.

As Store Manager, you will manage our brilliant team of staff and volunteers, providing effective leadership, training, and development.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to handle/lift bags of stock (up to 10kgs.)

Your new role
In your new role as a 'Procurement Manager', you will be a hands-on procurement professional getting involved with all aspects of the end -to-end procurement process. From contract negotiations with new and existing suppliers, cost-saving, liaising with stakeholders, tendering suppliers to professional services and maintenance of the site equipment. Your role will also entail the ability to lead development of an integrated procurement strategy across the business, including supporting the finance team with implementation of centralised stores and inventory management. The system you will be working on is called, 'Focal Point' (experience in this system would be beneficial).

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of 3 years Procurement experience.
• CIPS level 4.
• Can-do, hands-on approach to work.
• Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate about procurement matters having both specialist and non-specialist knowledge.
• Strong communication and ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Excellent & proven negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A full driving licence and their own transport (as the site is in a rural area). 3 days a week on site.

Your new role
In your role as 'Senior Procurement Contract Manager', you will be responsible for:
Contract negotiation and cost-saving. You'll need to be able to manage all aspects of your categories including sourcing, contracting and supplier relationship management, contract management, spend analysis, and market trends for the organisation's addressable spend. You'll be responsible within your category for developing and delivering the annual Procurement work plan, including financial savings targets. Lead the development, design, and implementation of all tender activities for your categories, to ensure the best possible outcomes (price, service, quality) and legal compliance. You must be able to ensure effective management of the procurement team who will be operating in a hybrid working environment. As 'Senior Procurement Contract Manager', you should be able to deliver excellent levels of customer service to all stakeholders, both internal and external; developing and supporting the organisation's culture of collaborative, flexible cross-team working and commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes, which maintain the Government's policies on public health. The organisation will expect you to be able to, proactively and positively contribute to the overall performance of the organisation, ensuring that category procurement activities are fully aligned with the organisation's strategic goals, financial targets and Standard Financial Instructions (SFI's).

What you'll need to succeed

• Extensive Public Sector Procurement experience.
• Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, including Public Contract Regulations 2015. Must gain understanding of any new procurement legislation introduced, (PCR23, Oct 2024).
• MCIPS qualified.
• Management of Atamis procurement system for all aspects of the category. This includes tendering, contract management, savings and work plan. Training of team members on Atamis where appropriate
• Extensive experience and understanding of how to negotiate with suppliers to ensure that sourcing objectives are achieved and that the potential contract represents the best value for money and that risk to the organisation is minimised.
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to commute to Devon.
