The Opportunity

The role of Senior Sales Executive is a part of our Abbott Vascular division located in Sweden.

Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.

In the role as Senior Sales Executive, you will be given the overall responsibility for the development and growth of the South Sweden region and our customers based in this area. This is a field-based role where you will be ensuring consistent sales growth and achievement of sales targets by identifying opportunities and gaining new business while maintaining existing business. You will also provide technical assistance, procedure support, implantation and follow up support as well as holding trainings and workshops to our customers.

What You'll Do

• Implement strategies and tactics to ensure market penetration, sales goals and the establishment of new accounts in the assigned territory.
• Generate and maintain contacts and relationships with key accounts, existing and new customers.
• Train and certify customers in Abbott’s endovascular solutions and vessel closure products.
• Provide technical assistance, procedure support, implantation and follow up support.
• Monitor market trends, coordinate promotion of new and existing products, with relevant marketing activities such as product presentations and competitor information.
• Take an active role in tender processes, work with Tender Manager on submissions and execute on awards as required.
• Participate in local and international congresses and meetings as needed.

Requirements

• University degree (or equivalent) in science, healthcare/nursing, or business discipline
• A minimum of 2 years successful hospital clinical sales and/or from support service in the Medical Device industry.
• Strong selling skills and excellent ability to build relations.
• Ability to put together a territory business plan and good numerical skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
• Self-drive to identify, initiate and implement projects independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English, other Scandinavian languages is an asset.
• Ability to travel to customers in your region and be on site 60-80%.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Summary of Position:

The main role of this position will be to focus on assessing and treating work-related injuries/illnesses within Mercury Marine Medical Directives and to maintain accurate records and charting of all medical encounters between employees and the Occupational Health Staff. This position is for PM shift primarily supporting manufacturing and distribution operations on the Mercury Marine Fond du Lac Campus. The position reports to the Occupational Health Manager as a member of the occupational health team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess and treat work-related injuries within Mercury Marine Medical Directives.
• Provide emergency care to occupational and non occupational illnesses within Mercury Marine’s Medical Directives.

• Maintain accurate records in OHS charting of all medical encounters between Mercury employees and Occupational Health Staff.
• Generate initial incident investigation reporting and communicate to management
• Conduct oral substance abuse screening and testing per Mercury directives, standards and protocols
• Conduct vision testing for employees who operate powered industrial vehicles.

Basic Qualifications:

• State of Wisconsin licensed nurse (L.P.N. and/or R.N.)
• A minimum of 2+ years of clinical healthcare experience in a medical setting, preferable a medical clinic, occupational health, ER or urgent care.
• Certification in CPR/AED for the health professional.
• Experience with occupational medicine or related setting is preferred.
• Possess requisite interpersonal and communication skills to support working with all levels of the organization as a team player.
• Self-starter, with good attention to detail and flexibility.
• Must have computers skills to conduct record management and filing.

• Able to work overtime hours as needed to ensure coverage for adjoining shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.

2. Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures which could include taking patients’ blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, as well as performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation and EKG’s. Acts as chaperon as needed. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.

3. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.

4. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.

5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.

6. Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).

7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.

8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.

9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Also interacts with physician’s offices in order to report, ask for or clarify information. Prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the response of the patient and family to changes in health status.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.

Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. Active Medical Assistant certification such as: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with proof of current membership from National Health Career Association (NHA) (Test administered after 7/1/2017 only) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) with proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT).

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of MERL Director for the upcoming USAID/Uganda Targeting the Learning Crisis activity. This position will be based in Kampala, Uganda and is contingent upon award. 

Project Description

The USAID/Uganda basic education activity—Targeting the Learning Crisis (TLC)—seeks to utilize USAID/Uganda’s past programming and leverage the global evidence base to implement cost-effective, sustainable, and impactful programming to significantly improve math and reading outcomes for Ugandan primary students. The activity will provide programming to learners from pre-primary education to primary grade 5 (P5). The activity will emphasize targeted instruction and other evidence-based approaches to significantly improve math and reading outcomes.

Position Description

The MERL Director is responsible for establishing and managing the project’s overall monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL) system and leading MERL team to track all progress made towards meeting program results, indicators, and targets, ensuring that they are being consistently and systematically documented, tracked and reported. S/he will lead the development of the MERL and CLA plans; design, implement, and maintain MERL systems and processes to capture program activities and results; and ensure the collection and analysis of quality, timely and valid data. They will collaborate with the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) and relevant technical staff to design and oversee Project learning and research to support learning, adaptive management, and planning, and oversee the implementation, analysis, dissemination, and use of research products. The MERL Director shares MERL data and improvement plans and collaborates with staff and stakeholders on strategies for program improvements for greater program effects.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the MERL plan for the Activity, including indicator selection and definition, target setting for all indicators, planning of all necessary data collection and analysis. 

• Oversee and directly contribute to the development and implementation of MERL tools and systems to collect, interpret and aggregate data that track tangible, measurable progress toward project results and data that meet donor reporting requirements.

• Lead the development of the project learning agenda, design and implement learning and research studies, building evidence on which approaches tested by the program works and why.

• Develop and support collaborative, learning and adaptive (CLA) approaches throughout the entire project to ensure that findings from all monitoring, assessment and survey activities are fed back into the project and disseminated to stakeholders and consortium partners for continuous program adjustments.

• Oversee and coordinate data collection activities, including learning assessments and contextual assessments.

• Develop high quality quantitative and qualitative methods and participatory methodologies to monitor program quality for performance and results; design appropriate feedback mechanisms to assess whether approaches implemented by the project are effective. 

• Working closely with the COP, lead team of MERL officers and provide training to staff, primary stakeholders, and implementing partners on MERL components in project design; such as monitoring plan, assessments, reviews, surveys and evaluations. 

• Provide ongoing oversight and technical assistance to consortium partners implementing monitoring and evaluation system, ensuring data and analysis are of high quality.

• Lead data systems strengthening efforts, building the capacity of government and other stakeholders.

• Oversee the publication and dissemination of information on successful and promising approaches, lessons learned and other program results to program partners, donors, government counterparts, and other key stakeholders.

• Provide high quality and timely submission of all required project reports, including documentation of success stories, analysis of data for indicator calculation, summary of qualitative findings, etc.

• Work collaboratively with members of FHI 360’s Research & Evaluation team to achieve project MERL goals.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, education, international development, or related field from an accredited university.

• At least 12 years of experience related to monitoring, evaluating and reporting on programs related to education in complex, resource-constrained settings.

• Experience in design and implementation of MERL systems for USG-funded projects.

• Experience with learning assessments; experience with early grade reading assessments preferred.

• Experience with Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) Frameworks and related data utilization.

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Expertise in education integrating gender equality and social inclusion into MEL systems.

• Demonstrated expertise in rigorous quantitative and qualitative education research and analytical methods.

• Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills, including oral presentation skills.

• Demonstrated statistical analysis skills and use of relevant software (Excel, ODK/Kobo, PowerBi, SAS, Stata, SPSS, Epi Info, Atlas).

• Strong facilitation skills for training enumerators, counterparts and project and partner staff; additional experience building the capacity of local partners preferred.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with program staff and supervise and develop junior staff.

• Experience in the education sector in Uganda or the region strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of US Government rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding compliance and reporting on projects and programs.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for the upcoming USAID/Uganda Targeting the Learning Crisis activity. This position will be based in Kampala, Uganda and is contingent upon award to FHI 360.   

Project Description

The USAID/Uganda basic education activity—Targeting the Learning Crisis (TLC)—seeks to utilize USAID/Uganda’s past programming and leverage the global evidence base to implement cost-effective, sustainable, and impactful programming to significantly improve math and reading outcomes for Ugandan primary students. The activity will provide programming to learners from pre-primary education to primary grade 5 (P5). The activity will emphasize targeted instruction and other evidence-based approaches to significantly improve math and reading outcomes.

Position Description

The DCOP works in close coordination with the Chief of Party (COP) and is responsible for managing the quality and timeliness of the project’s overall technical workstream. They will supervise the technical team, liaise with technical partners, relevant national stakeholders, beneficiaries and the donor, as needed. 

The DCOP should have a deep understanding of the context of the Ugandan basic education system, as well as evidence-base practices to improve foundational literacy and numeracy acquisition amongst pre-primary and primary students. This should include, but not be limited to, experience with and knowledge of targeted instruction and Teaching at the Right Level.  

Job Summary/Responsibilities

• Coordinate closely with the COP on all technical matters; provides support to the overall leadership and management of the project

• Provide technical leadership over all technical workstreams, activities and products.

• Lead the design and implementation of workplans; ensure strategic and cohesive program direction.

• Oversee technical outputs (activities, strategies and deliverables) and capacity building of all implementing partner organizations, ensuring cohesive technical strategy across the consortium

• With the COP, serve as primary technical liaison to the Ministry of Education and Sports and other relevant government counterparts.

• Support the MEL Director to oversee project monitoring and evaluation activities. 

• Promote sustainability of project activities with effective networking, coordination and linkages to other programs, partners and counterparts, capacity building of project staff, and institutional strengthening of implementing partners and community-based organizations.   

• Contribute to timely and accurate donor reporting.

• Supervise the recruitment, hiring, and management of technical staff and consultants.    

• Provide leadership to technical staff and ensure clear roles and responsibilities; maintain clear lines of communication with project team members

• Collaborate with in-country and headquarter-based technical staff to ensure the project is implemented according to FHI 360 and industry best practices, program framework, and regulations • Serve as project representative in the absence of the COP  

Required Qualifications 

• Master’s degree required in education, curriculum and instruction, primary teacher education or related field.; PhD or EdD preferred  

• Expertise in early grade reading and math, early childhood education, teacher professional development, and targeted instruction strategies (e.g., Teaching at the Right Level)

• 12+ years of related work experience in increasingly senior roles, with 8+ years in leadership positions; experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO) preferred

• Experience in the education sector in Uganda

• Proven technical leadership in USAID-funded projects preferred

• Ability to build positive working relationships with local communities, government officials, implementing partners and donors

• Demonstrated ability in complex environments, working across different cultures, and managing diverse teams to deliver impact within agreed timelines

• Expertise in gender equality and social inclusion preferred and universal design for learning (UDL) preferred

• Oral and written fluency required in English
