This position requires extensive knowledge of test resources (data sources and streams, drones, targets, airspace scheduling, electronic attack pods, threat systems, etc) and of the system under test in order to minimize schedule and test-rigor risk while maximizing data return on each test event. Experience in the following areas is highly desired: operational test, weapon systems, air-to-air weapons testing, and the acquisition strategy, As a general engineer, incumbent will be responsible for managing timely and effective operational and integrated test to determine effectiveness and suitability of all fielded and developmental weapons, including but not limited to AIM-9X, AIM-120 (AMRAAM), AIM-260 (JATM), hypersonic weapons (ARRW and HACM), JASSM and stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW). Knowledge and experience with operational test (OT) of fielded and emerging air-to-air weapons, multi-platform materiel solution operational test and evaluation with test portfolio ranging from missiles to software to bio sensors and includes air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, electronic warfare (EW) systems, aircrews flight equipment, agile combat support systems, and mission planning software and systems.
- Performs a broad range of multidisciplinary professional engineering work to manage test and evaluation
(T&E) efforts for assigned programs. - Develops metrics and interprets analysis and results to ascertain needed changes or modifications to test and evaluation programs.
- Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials
responsible for broad program operations. - Participates in planning conferences, prepares management reports, and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action.
