The position develops, implements, and administers child development programs; provides an overall safe and healthy environment to stimulate and sustain the interest of children; assists with administration; and organizes the educational and developmental programs managerial authorities.
DUTIES
- Assists the Child Development Center Director in the daily operations of the Child Development Center. Supports the CDC Director in the development, implementation and oversight of all elements of the Child Development Center program through activities, experiences, supportive interactions and positive social development.
- Assists in the administration and evaluation of ongoing programs of individual and group developmental and educational activities for staff implementation and execution. Provides assistance and oversight in the care of full day, part day and specialized settings to promote cognitive, physical and emotional growth of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years or those with those with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities that function at an age comparable to those previously stated.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements.
- Provides assistance in the management of funds and resources to include developing the annual NAF and APF budgets, which includes submission and prioritization of program component requirements. Assists in managing the purchases of supplies, travel, training, contracted services, and capital expenditures.
- Assists the director in the administration of the USDA nutrition/food program. Provides oversight to the kitchen staff of the USDA food program requirements, maintenance of records, portions, cost cards, and proper serving and storing of food.
