Summary of Job Duties:
The Assistant Director of Advocacy and Education Services provides direct victim advocacy, related support services, and prevention education and outreach for the Campus Sexual and Relationship Violence Center at the University of Arkansas. The assistant director will work directly with the campus community who have been impacted by sexual and relationship violence to provide advocacy and support in accessing appropriate resources and navigating justice processes. The assistant director will provide prevention education and outreach programs to address sexual and relationship violence across the campus community.
The assistant director is responsible for assisting the director of Campus Sexual and Relationship Violence Center (SRVC) with the management of day-to-day operations and works within a team to provide advocacy and education services to the University of Arkansas community. This individual will work collaboratively with campus and community resources to provide coordinated and supportive care for victims/survivors. The assistant director will oversee the Volunteer After Hours Advocate Program and student internships related to victim advocacy services. The assistant director will assist with oversight of education and outreach programs provided by graduate and undergraduate student staff and interns of the SRVC.
The Assistant Director of Advocacy and Education Services is to be a certified victim advocate or be able to achieve certification within the first six months of employment.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provision of direct victim advocacy services
• Identifying appropriate resources to support individual victims/survivors
• Coordinate care for victims/survivors
• Accompany victims/survivors to Title IX meetings, police interviews, etc.
• Facilitate campus support groups
• Supervise advocacy service interns
• Oversee volunteer after hours advocate program
• Recruit after hours volunteer advocates
• Training of volunteer after hours advocates
• Serve on call after hours
• Provide trauma-informed education and outreach to promote advocacy services and address sexual and relationship violence through bystander intervention, consent education, ecological approach toward prevention, etc.
• Collaboratively work with campus and community groups for diversified prevention education
• Recruit and train peer educators
• Supervise undergraduate SRVC peer educators
• Assist with overseeing SAAM (Sexual Assault Awareness Month) initiatives
• Assist with facilitating the Campus Collaborative Against Sexual Assault
• Establish and maintain relationships with campus and community resources
• Work collaboratively with campus and community resources
• Support SRVC initiatives
• Maintain appropriate records and documentation
• Some evening and weekends required

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, public health, criminology, sociology, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
At least one year of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, public health, criminology, sociology, social work, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience with supervisory responsibilities
Experience working with college students
Experience with victim advocacy
Experience working within sexual and relationship violence field
Certification as a victim advocate
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (ie. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Proficient with English language
Additional Information:
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
