The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a Research Assistant/Associate Policy Analyst. The rapid population ageing in Singapore calls for innovative solutions. We aim to assess the impact of health promotion programmes (e.g. urban care farming, cognition training, etc) on the health and health-related behaviours of participants. This project will involve recruitment, assessment, and analysis of the research data. The candidate will also be working on models in policy evaluation. 6. Generating reports and high-quality publications for presentation to stakeholders and submission to top tier journals, respectively;
7. Leading a team comprising Research Assistant(s) and Students in the conduct of laboratory- and field-based research studies;
8. Working at different study sites, depending on the needs;
9. Working beyond routine work hours due to the nature of research;
10. Maintaining the highest standard of professional conduct and record-keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
11. Maintaining regular communication with other members of the research team; and
12. Assisting with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. Have a Doctorate, preferably in sport science, life sciences or related disciplines;
2. Have an interest and experience leading and conducting laboratory and field research with human participants;
3. Be proficient in statistics, data analyses and data visualisation for both quantitative and qualitative data;
4. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
5. Be adaptable and able to multi-task well;
6. Be able to work independently and in a team;
7. Have an investigative nature and be detail-oriented;
8. Have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS Office.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
