Boston Conservatory at Berklee invites applications for a full-time open rank faculty position in Composition and Theory in the department of Composition, Contemporary Music, and Core Studies. The ideal candidate for this position will be a motivated, creative professional who is committed to excellence in teaching and mentorship, has a robust record of compelling performances of their compositions, and enjoys working in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding. This is a 9-month full-time faculty position with a renewable contract; initial appointment to begin September 1, 2024. Compensation and rank are commensurate with professional experience.
Composition and Core Studies at Boston Conservatory:
The composition program offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, providing frequent opportunities for performances through our Composers Recital Series, collaborations with student large ensembles, and residencies with guest ensembles. Students are encouraged to experiment and work out ideas, and to treat each performance as a laboratory in which to explore new ideas. Degrees culminate in graduating recitals, and students are required to compose a capstone “thesis” composition.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary duties of this position in the Composition department include teaching private composition lessons as assigned, teaching sections of Composition Seminar, attending events of the Composers Recital Series, and participating in juries and admissions interviews and portfolio review as available. The individual hired may be asked to teach elective Theory courses or other composition-specific courses. Other duties and responsibilities will be based on needs of the department, the candidate’s individual experience along with areas of the candidate’s specialization, as well as service and committee assignments as needed.

Job Description:
The Performance Technology Specialist at Boston Conservatory at Berklee executes the critical recording, editing, streaming, and other performance support elements of all BCB performances. The Specialist coordinates all logistical and technical details for assigned performances, trains student and non-student workers, attends and supports departmental events, and contribute to the future planning for the Performance Technology team.● Provide critical support in streaming, editing, recording, setups, and more for Conservatory performances and events

Job Description:
The Theater Division at Boston Conservatory at Berklee is in search of a full-time faculty member to teach various studio-based musical theater performance courses within the B.F.A. The ideal candidate will have a history of helping students achieve a significant level of improvement in musical theater performance and will be committed to establishing a forward-thinking pedagogy for diverse, multifaceted theater artists. Faculty are expected to participate in teaching, professional and artistic service, and service to the institution, as well as participation in the life of the Theater Division. Candidates should be able to address questions regarding race and representation in contemporary actor training; and be advocates for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom and the profession. Qualifications:
Minimum of master’s degree in musical theater, acting, directing or preferred.
Minimum of three teaching experience in a higher education setting
Professional experience as a musical theater performer (Broadway or LORT regional theater)
Professional affiliations such as AEA, SAG, etc.
Dedication to redefining the American theater canon regarding authenticity of racial, gender, ethnic, and sexual identity
Comprehensive knowledge of musical theater performance pedagogy, repertoire, styles and performance history
Specific knowledge of various acting training styles preferred.

Job Description:
Boston Conservatory at Berklee is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Admissions. The primary responsibility of this position is to represent Boston Conservatory at Berklee to prospective students, parents, and counselors with an emphasis on students interested in the Dance and Voice programs. They are also responsible for coordinating on campus auditions, online auditions, and national audition tours, planning major events, execution of recruitment, and prospect and application management both of a given travel territory and the Dance and Voice program areas of the Conservatory. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Admissions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the major point of contact for all applicants to Voice and Dance programs through campus visits, recruitment trips, application processing, and audition assistance.
Design and assemble the regional audition tours for Dance and Voice programs when applicable by identifying, scheduling and booking audition venues around the country in concert with faculty requests and availability, request payment and issue certificates of insurance for each venue.
Responsible for planning and implementing recruitment activities within their designated region. Travel independently in support of high school, college, and education fair visits.
Engage in annual recruitment and travel in a region of the country for 6-8 weeks in the fall. Plan said travel through analysis of past travel productivity as well as application and enrollment data review.
Oversees the functionality and maintenance of recruitment documents for the office as well as register faculty and admissions staff for college fairs and conferences.
Assist with the design and scheduling of Boston auditions, including booking rooms, scheduling faculty, arranging facilities requests, room set-ups, and food catering.
Assist with planning and execution of additional on-campus events including Open House and accepted student yield events. Assistance with registration and scheduling of auditions, communicating with faculty and applicants, and helping with room set-ups and food catering when needed.
Guide applicants through the admissions process from point of inquiry through matriculation, including assistance with registration and scheduling of auditions.
Facilitate the completion of applications including the data entry of supporting documents (transcripts, recommendation letters) and adjudication sheets.
Field inquiries from prospects, faculty and staff via phone and email in a timely manner.
Generate regular reports from online application system (Acceptd, TargetX, Salesforce) to distribute with appropriate faculty.
Available for seasonal work, including travel and events on weekends and evenings.
Serve as Website Content Manager for Admission pages.

Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a major or minor in dance, music, or theater.
Personal experience and/or education in the arts (Dance or voice preferred).
Two to three years’ work experience in a fast-paced office environment required, preferably in college admissions.
Extensive experience with large-scale event-planning.
Driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel via car, train and plane.
This position may provide an opportunity for limited remote work.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BCB) is seeking a dynamic and visionary academic and artistic leader to serve as dean of its Theater Division. The Dean of Theater will be an experienced and innovative leader prepared to develop an expanding musical theater and contemporary theater curriculum while honoring the values of a rigorous conservatory learning experience.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater and contemporary theater. Its programs are considered the best in the country. The Theater Division employs 38 full-time and 45 part-time faculty. Enrollment stands at 40 undergraduate contemporary theater students and 253 undergraduate musical theater students. The Theater Division presents more than 45 student, faculty, and guest-artist performances each year in on-campus venues, which include the Boston Conservatory Theater (325-seat mainstage proscenium theater) and our Zack Box Theater (60-seat black box theater). Since its founding in 1867, Boston Conservatory’s students and faculty have shared their talent and creativity with the city of Boston, the region and the nation. Boston Conservatory at Berklee continues to grow today as a vibrant community of artists and educators.
Berklee College of Music is the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world. Qualifications:
Strong vision for shaping current and future trends in theater education with an eye on the professional landscape, including understanding of/experience with digital learning and its implications for conservatory training
Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Boston Conservatory at Berklee and the entire Berklee organization
Ability to manage departmental budgets and resources with fiscal responsibility
Ability to hire, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff while providing an inclusive, supportive team environment
Proven commitment to hiring, enrolling, and supporting a diverse community
Required Experience:
A minimum of a Masters degree. Candidates with a BA or BFA and significant teaching, performance and/or artistic direction experience in a higher education setting and/or arts-related field will be considered.
Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in theater-related educational and professional environments
Track record of successful partnerships with educational and arts organizations as well as experience in coalition building with other arts institutions nationally and/or internationally
Experience in supporting performing arts student recruitment, as well as the admissions process all the way through to matriculation

Job Description:
The Music Division of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BCB) is seeking collaborative pianists to accompany voice students in private lessons, recital rehearsals and performances, concerto competitions, and juries. Accompanists may also collaborate with faculty and students on studio classes/concerts, visiting artist recitals, special faculty-led concerts, and auditions.Music Division Accompanists work with students who are training to become professional musicians and mentoring is an important part of the everyday duties. Just as we expect our students to perform at an ever-increasing level, our accompanists are expected to be highly proficient and talented performers that can react in real-time to student and faculty cues and expression. They are expected to take a collaborative approach to their work with students, guiding them in the preparation of their pieces and advising them on how to professionally work with another musician (including but not limited to cueing, rehearsal time management, tempo management, matching pitch, and selecting repertoire). Staff Accompanists will also act as guides and inspiration for student employee accompanists who are refining their skills as collaborative pianists.
This is a part-time position with up to 20-25 hours a week depending on need and availability during the academic year.
