Summary
The Senior Analyst, Pricing Strategy will help define and execute on the pricing and discounting strategies for Illumina’s portfolio of products and services. This person will partner with Illumina’s global Product Management, Finance, and Commercial teams on pricing decisions and be recognized as an expert on all matters related to pricing strategy and data analysis.
Responsibilities
Develop pricing analytics models using both internal and external data to assess pricing performance, inform list price and discounting strategies, and analyze market and customer dynamics for both existing products and new product launches.
Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to evaluate the long-term effects of pricing and positioning decisions, conduct financial analyses on emerging pricing strategies, and partner with the pricing operations team to implement pricing execution plans
Spec and design dashboards to enable stakeholders to generate meaningful insights related to pricing and discounting performance
Influence senior executives to gain alignment on pricing and discounting recommendations
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in pricing, finance, or consulting
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or math preferred
Expert ability with Excel; experience with R preferred
Strong ability to create, articulate, and present a persuasive recommendation regarding pricing proposals to key stakeholders within a highly cross-functional, matrixed organization
Strong business acumen and analytical skills with ability to tie detailed analysis to overarching strategies
Strong initiative, problem-solving ability, and sense of ownership to develop the best solution amidst strong differences of stakeholders’ views
Ability to translate pricing strategies to practical pricing conversations with regional leaders
Passion for the role genomics will play in improving human health
Willing to travel based on business and training needs (up to 20%)

The Senior Manager, R&D Strategy and Business Operations, is an individual contributor who is an integral part of a small team making up the strategy arm of the R&D Strategy and Program Management organization. This team serves as a strategic and tactical execution partner to the Chief Technology Officer and the R&D leadership team. The role’s primary focus is to work within R&D and with cross-functional teams to drive key business transformation activities to increase R&D efficiency and effectiveness, deliver insights to facilitate structured decision-making on portfolio investments, and support activities critical to executing R&D strategy, including but not limited to: CTO communications, workforce alignment & associated change management, and evaluation of external collaborations or partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supporting high priority projects utilizing strategic and tactical skill sets.

The estimated base salary range for the Senior Manager, R&D Strategy and Business Operations role based in the United States of America is: $138,800 - $208,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
