Your new role
In the role, you will take the lead on the approach and development of IT training within the organisation. To be considered for this role, you will have worked in a similar IT trainer role and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products such as (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) you'll also have an excellent understanding of the wider M365 suite and MS Teams. You'll have experience training in Microsoft packages and training in a CRM system (ideally Microsoft Dynamics). You'll need to be an excellent communicator with a personable approach. You'll need to be proactive and self-sufficient, whilst also being able to work well with internal teams and across the organisation. You'll need good planning skills and excellent time management skills. Formal training qualifications would be desirable, as would knowledge regarding ITIL standards and best practice & agile methodologies.

The prospect is expected to conduct quantitative and qualitative research as well as provide leadership and guidance to junior team members in the analyses of findings to address issues of concern to businesses. Amongst others, these include curating both primary and secondary data to support evidence-based output, deriving insights and business implications from data, and managing the conduct of research across geographical markets and business subject matters.

Job responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and guide the other member(s) of the team to identify, analyse and address issues of concern to businesses.
• Gather feedback to understand and identify the needs, concerns and future plans of businesses through surveys, quick polls and focus group discussions.
• Plan and manage the conduct of research in different geographical markets and a broad range of issues related to internationalisation, with the ability to chart trends and track indicators across markets. This includes planning and managing the conduct of internationalisation surveys.
• Conduct research and analysis on issues of concern facing significant segments of SMEs and the wider business community.
• Conducting workshops and focus group discussions, including the conduct of qualitative interviews and documenting case studies to showcase successful SMEs and provide guidance on best practices.
• Producing topical research reports, newsletters, economic write-ups and commentaries, and other in-depth market studies.
• Engage and work with the business community and relevant stakeholders to identify policies and programmes that should be put in place or changed to create a more pro-enterprise environment.
• Collaborating and liaising with government agencies, think-tanks, trade associations, business chambers and the business community at large.
• Work closely with respective business units (especially those related to internationalization) to understand and distil key areas of interest and concerns.
• Presentation of findings to Council members and other internal and external stakeholders at relevant platforms.

Job requirements

• Degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• 6-8 years of work experience, with more than 5 years of work experience in a research or policy formulation role.
• Strong analytical, consultation, facilitation, planning, research and presentation skills.
• Knowledge in the use of any of the following data science tools would be looked upon favourably: SPSS, Power BI, Tableau, R, SPSS and Python.
• Ability to present research and data findings in an easily understandable format that appeals to the business community.
• Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and reach out to external stakeholders and businesses at various levels.
• Proficient in organising, facilitating and leading focus group discussions and in-depth interviews.
• Have a good understanding of our Government’s policies, programmes and schemes for businesses as well as government regulations that impact businesses and have a passion in helping Singapore businesses.
• Comfortable in handling multiple tasks and projects.
• A self-starter and an effective team player.
