Job Responsibilities*

Requirements*

Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences and Professional Licences)

1. 10 years of relevant experience preferably in healthcare

2. Procurement experience will be advantageous.

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals.

4. Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

5. Proficient in MS Office Suite and SAP is desirable.

The Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS) is a nationally recognised service providing essential advice and guidance to the NHS in relation to all aspects of medicines use. We operate as a single integrated team spanning all 7 regions of NHS England & Improvement. Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Reviews all VALB Pharmacy procurement activities to ensure adherence with all VA contracts, federal laws, and VA policies and procedures.
• Conducts review of all purchases to ensure appropriateness, alternatives, and cost-effective selections.
• Duties require the coordination of processes with other medical facilities or VISNs. Serves as a Pharmacy Service representative at local Medication Shortage Committee and VISN/national meetings where appropriate.
