Radars Site Technical Manager FalklandsPermanent/ Full-Time Competitive salary plus benefits
Serco Defence are contracted to maintain Air Defence radars and provide the day-to-day operation of Remote Radar Heads across five radar sites at Brizlee Wood, Northumberland; Saxa Vord, Shetland Isles; Buchan, Eastern Scotland; Benbecula, Western Scotland, and Neatishead, Norfolk.
As part of a new expansion, Serco has bidded for a contract to support the Remote Radar Heads on the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic, The Falkland Islands are a British overseas territory that rely on the UK for the guarantee of their security. Main Accountabilities:


- Recognised as an experienced Radar engineer within the business, providing specialist engineering advice, guidance, and Management to the site Radar Engineering personnel in all areas of maintenance, radar support and system setup of the TPS -59 radar system.
- Responsible for delivering 95% availability of both the Primary and Secondary radar systems.
- Understand and deliver industry best practice with regards to radar support.
- Lead and manage a team of 2 others to deliver radar availability at remote radar sites.
- Deliver 1st/ 2nd line Preventative maintenance on the TPS-59 Radar Systems.
- Deliver 1st/ 2nd and 3rd line Corrective maintenance on the TPS-59 Radar System.
- Responsible for quality compliance, safety, and engineering obligations at TPS-59 radar site.
- Engaging with the RAF customer and their representatives.
- Provide out of hours call out to support radar availability when required.
- Responsible for Management and review radar technical manuals
- Responsible for Management all tools and test equipment required to support at radar site.
- Support the Systems Manger to maximise the overall system availability.
- Responsible for Management of Spares inventory at the radar site.
- Provide a site support to Lockheed Martin when required.
- Manage personnel to carry out all non-technical tasks at the radar site.

What you’ll need to do the role:


- Hold a recognised Electronics and Electrical Qualification.
- Required OEM technical training.
- At least 10 years radar experience.
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with RAF personnel on the radar sites.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Proven track record in maintaining the Air defence radar systems.
- Understanding RAF processes.
- Proven track record of successful maintaining radar systems.
- Proven practical and pragmatic understanding of service delivery.
- Previous team management experience.

Meta is seeking a data center Facility Technical Manager - Mechanical/Electrical to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. This Facility Technical Manager will build and manage a team of Mechanical and Electrical Subject Matter Experts and will serve as the point of contact for stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be experienced leading teams in a diverse array of technical subjects, such as electrical generation, electrical distribution, mechanical cooling technologies, fire/life safety systems, and critical system redundancy. The responsibilities of this role include management of a technical team, supporting a wide range of projects and processes within the site, coordination with engineering and global support teams, and communicating and resolving issues with various teams at the site. This position reports directly to the Data Center Campus Facility Director and is an onsite role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team consisting of Mechanical and Electrical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) at the Data Center to provide technical support to the Critical Operations teams. This team will consist of individual contributors.
• Lead the team in providing technical solutions to operational challenges at the data center campus to include unexpected system responses, design issues, and response to equipment failures.
• Report directly to the Data Center Campus Facility Director (DCCFD) and provide direction on mechanical and electrical functions affecting physical infrastructure required throughout the campus.
• Establish team goals and prioritize SME resources to support the priorities of the Facility Operations organization.
• Provide mentorship and people management in accordance with company values including supporting career growth and providing performance feedback.
• Work with stakeholders to develop and implement operational improvement projects aligned with budget priorities.
• Work cross functionally with the Facility Technical Manager - Automation/Process to support and prioritize integrated technical work across the campus.

• Provide leadership and support for investigating root causes of unplanned operational events.

• Work with recruiting to hire, interview, and select candidates for open positions.
• 5-10% travel may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of technical experience in Electrical or Mechanical systems or a four-year technical degree such as engineering or technical program with 6+ years experience
• 7+ years of experience in building, managing, and coordinating technical teams
• General knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory codes and standards
• Experience communicating and presenting technical material effectively
• Technical knowledge and experience with complex systems. Examples may include any of: Building Electrical systems, Electrical Distribution, Emergency Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), High/Medium/Low voltage applications. Mechanical systems, including HVAC, Plumbing, Critical Water systems, Fire/Life Safety Protection Systems
• Experience troubleshooting complex problems and addressing root causes by analyzing data
• Proven time management, organization, and prioritization skills
• Experience in Data Center or other Critical Facilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years experience in managing technical teams
• Four-year technical degree such as engineering or technical program
