Chevron Malaysia Limited is accepting online applications for the position of Lead Operator located in Pulau Indah, Malaysia.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Drive and motivate incident free operation. Executes the following operational activities and comply with OE/HSE policies, standards and procedures:
Tank Truck Loading
Conducts Near Loss Incident (NLI) / Loss Incident (LI) investigation.
Prepares and reviews daily closing report for additive.
Checks and reviews the meter reconciliation report are accurate and reconciled accordingly.
Checks and reviews the pre-EOD (End of Day) inventory report and ensure gain/loss are within threshold; conducts and completes investigation if required.
Marine Receipt and Inter Tank Transfer
Leads Operations Team and Execute Marine Receipt / Inter Tank Transfer (ITT) as per procedure and standards.
Arranges and ensures adequate manpower for discharge operation.
Verifies tank inventory and ullage and determine receiving tank for entire receipt.
Prepares document for receiving – Vessel Receipt Checklist, Product Receipt Log, discharge sequence, Operating limitations.
Prepares laboratory equipment for testing.
Conducts pre-transfer conference with vessel, performs AHAS and discusses Emergency Procedure for ship/shore.
Verifies vessel/supplier Certificate of Analysis (COA) against Chevron product specification.
Witness calculation of product volume, product sampling, testing of product against COA
Performs periodical communication as agreed with vessel.
Monitors hourly on discharging rate, flow rate, testing of line samples, ensures the receiving tanks operate on allowable operating level.
Completes product receipt log and confirms quantity receipt with surveyor.
Completes all transfer documents before vessel departure.
Executes water draw off from tanks as per terminal procedure.
PME (Palm Methyl Ester) Receipt & Storage
Arranges and ensures adequate manpower for discharge operation.
Verifies tank inventory and ullage and determine receiving tank for entire receipt.
Prepares laboratory equipment for testing.
Supervises calculation of product volume, product sampling, testing of product against COA
Completes product receipt log and confirms quantity receipt.
Completes all transfer documents before truck departure.
Additive receipt and Storage
Performs inspection on drum condition.
Verifies product code and shipping documents.
Supervises stacking of additive at drum yard.
Prepares monthly physical inventory report.
Supervises and coordinates the implementation of Asset Integrity and planned/unplanned maintenance activities such as but not limited to fire and safety equipment, pipeline, tank truck loading rack, storage tank, marine receiving equipment, valves, forklift, environmental protection equipment, emergency response equipment, tank gauging facilities, office building, calibration of equipment, critical equipment such as product pumps.
Carries out routine (daily and monthly) inspection on terminal facilities to maintain good housekeeping; submits inspection report for Operations Manager and Operations Supervisor Review
Ensures Safe Work Practices are adhering to; issues Work Permit for activity performs by contractor; performs bump test on Gas Detector
Leads near loss incident, loss incident or loss investigation at the terminal and ensure agreed corrective actions are completed in timely manner.
Performs the duty of On Scene Commander for emergency response on any drill or incident such as fire, spill, security and motor vehicle crash (MVC)
Actively participates in Safety Meetings, Stand Downs, Safeguard Stewardship activities – Assess Hazard Analyze Safeguard (AHA), Safeguard Learning Tool (SLT)
Participates in all training and utilize learned skills, provide supervision and coaching to Operator in the fulfillment of day-to-day activities and provides liaison with Terminal Leadership
Performs any other duties as assigned by Senior Lead Operator, Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager
Required Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in Engineering/Occupational Safety & Health), / any discipline
At least 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory function
Preferably 3 years’ experience in Terminal Storage operations
Willing to work on a 3-shift cycle
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Able to manage a team, manage customer focus, and good time management skills
Team player and good communications skills
Able to perform firefighting role
Good computer skill sets
Able to work independently.
Advantage with Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management.
