Monday - Friday

08.30am - 5.00pm (1 x 30 minute & 2 x 15 minute unpaid breaks)

The post will require you to undertake various clerical/reception and appointments duties in connection with the administration processes within Patient Access services. You must possess excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone. You must be able to use a keyboard to input information, as well as possessing a mature outlook when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues. You must be flexible and be able to cover in the absence of colleagues.

To undertake various administrative duties associated with the custody and use of Health Records aswell as those associated with a patient’s admission and/or attendance to the Trust, as outlined in the
Patient Access Policy (OP39)

It is expected that staff will undertake duties relating to any aspect of service provided by the Patient Access Services Team.

It is expected that staff will be able to demonstrate a significant level of initiative in organising their workload and in taking decisions and action within clearly defined limits.

To be responsible for the accurate in-put, up-date and amendment of patient related information onto the computerised Patient Administration System (PAS), departmental Electronic Referral System (ERS)

To process all incoming referral letters in accordance with Trust policy, ensuring accurate input onto the Hospital PAS system and book outpatient appointments within agreed Trust targets.

To accurately record reasons for patient cancellations/change of appointments, including re-booking appointments as requested.

To be responsible for the booking of interpreters for patient clinic appointments as requested.

To take necessary action to book, cancel or change appointments on the PAS.

To be responsible for ensuring the daily unfilled slot report is dealt with and new/review patient slots are utilised and filled at short notice.

To raise any foreseeable capacity issues where patient slots are not available to your line managers

To prepare case notes/paperlite packs for all attendances ensuring they comply with the Standard Order of Case Notes, and to ensure X-ray and investigation proformas relevant to each attendance are
available.

To ensure all patient referrals are available for clinic ether electronically or in paper form for those areas where noteless working has not be adopted.

To amalgamate case notes where more than one record exists and to ensure that all Casenotes are filed in the recognised format

To provide a patient focused reception service, ensuring that the service is efficient and welcoming.

To update demographic details on PAS for each attendance in clinic and ask questions in line with the Data Quality Standards within the Health Records Policy - OP7

To make appointments, place on OWL and discharge patients where necessary using PAS

To update Referral ToTreatment (RTT) pathways for all pathways open and ensure all patients are either marked as attended or DNA on each clinic.

To arrange transport for patients as required.

To accurately input and update all patients related information onto the computerised Patient Administration System.

To ensure that the 18 week RTT pathways are opened and closed appropriately.

To be aware of, and adhere to all Trust & Local policies and procedures with regard to confidentiality, ensuring that all information handled within the department is dealt with to the highest standards of
confidentiality and security, and to respond in a professional & sensitive manner when dealing with confidential issues.

To be familiar and comply with all Divisional and Trust policies, procedures and practices.

To take part in the annual appraisal system.

To cover in the absence of colleagues as required.

To undertake mandatory training sessions and undergo training as deemed appropriate by your line Managers as and when required.

To assist with the training of newly recruited Patient Access staff, including an introduction into working practices and procedures.

The Community Specialist Health Nurse works with people with a learning disability with additional physical health or mental health needs when they are unable to access mainstream health services, The nurses support other services to make reasonable adjustments so that they are accessible to the service user and work to reduce health inequalities and improve health outcomes.

The team support with desensitisation programmes to reduce health phobias and deliver education and training to other services and carers so they can support the service user group more effectively. The team support other partner agencies to deliver health promotion projects based on learning from LeDeR.

The team also provide Health Coordination for those service users with complex health needs and supports the uptake of Physical Health - Care and Treatment Reviews; sing a frailty tool developed by the service.

Annual Health Check training continues to be delivered to GP practices and PCNs and the team work closely with other agencies to improve the uptake and support any follow up required, including the development of Health Action Plans and Hospital Passports.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

The post holder will work within the team to help facilitate and develop breast cancer services within Manchester Foundation Trust by acting as an ambassador for the breast clinical nurse specialists (BCNS) team. They will provide professional, clinical and innovative care delivery within a multi-professional team after undergoing any training required for the role.

The Macmillan Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist will work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide expert advice and support for patients with suspected or confirmed breast cancer, benign breast problems as well as patients undergoing gender reassignment. They will provide specialist nursing knowledge and expertise in the management of patients, liaising with colleagues across care settings to ensure specialist assessment, providing holistic packages of care and ensuring patients receive prompt and evidence-based care.

The post holder will devise and deliver programmes of specialist education and training to healthcare professionals, patients and carers. They will work to develop the breast service in collaboration with health care colleagues.

The post holder will be required to work across Manchester Foundation Trust hospitals as well as in the breast unit at Royal Oldham Hospital.

Informal visits are encouraged and part-time hours may be considered for suitable candidates.



The Macmillan Breast CNS’ hold various nurse-led clinics such as arranging to see patients to discuss their treatment options in detail which significantly decreases the time that the Consultant spends when signing the consent form and ensures that the patient is fully informed, thus decreasing possible litigation claims. The nurses also explain complex oncological treatments, perform comprehensive wound assessments and management and hold telephone consultations with patients, again reducing the need for out-patient appointments or GP visits. In addition, they undertake treatment summaries as well as telephone triage clinics.

All of these contacts are recorded on the Trust’s new Hive IT system.

Other aspects of the role include covering various clinics which include one-stop clinics, follow-up clinics, reconstruction clinics, oncology and gender reassignment clinics; the aim of which is to support patients, identifying and addressing individual patient’s needs. Additionally, a proportion of their time is spent attending the multidisciplinary team meetings - this is a quality assurance requirement ensuring patient advocacy.

The nurses work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes consultants, radiography staff, oncologists and pathology staff.

There is an exciting opportunity for a full time Consultant in Acute Medicine to join the existing team working across WTWA Hospitals.

The Acute Medical and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team includes 11 consultants with a breadth of specialty knowledge. We are supported by an excellent multidisciplinary team. This includes 3 Advanced care practitioners, one consultant nurse, 2 pharmacists, 3 physician associates, occupational and physiotherapists, discharge facilitators, locally employed senior and junior clinical fellows and rotating doctors in training.

We are keen to attract candidates interested in service development will support this in post. We are also keen to recruit a colleague who will contribute to the wider hospital including but not limited to supporting management and training (both undergraduate and postgraduate) activities. Regular multidisciplinary meetings include a team meeting for CPD, radiology meeting, biologics meeting and radiology/respiratory meeting.

This appointment will be made in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions. The Job Description indicates the main duties of the post, which may be reviewed in the light of experience and developments within service. Any review will be undertaken in conjunction with the post holder.

This is a full time 10PA post. However, applications for less than full time work or job shares would also be welcomed. 11/12 PAs may also be available by mutual agreement. Admin Team Lead/Senior Secretary based at the specialised Coral Suite, Moss Side Health Centre

Working within a busy, dynamic Community Paediatric Service based at the Coral Suite, our centre of excellence, which encompasses looked after children and child protection clinics, you’ll work in a great team . You’ll receive an induction programme, full training and have the opportunity for ongoing learning and development.

This is an important role within the service and you will utilise your strong leadership, communication and organisational skills to ensure the smooth running of the safeguarding clinics. With experience of working within an office environment you'll have excellent secretarial and Microsoft Office IT skills and be familiar with audio/digital dictation.

• To co-ordinate, supervise and provide line management to the administration team, ensuring the efficient, effective and high quality administration functions within the service.
• To ensure the smooth running of the looked after children and child protection clinics.
• Provide secretarial support to the consultant community paediatricians.
• To develop, coordinate and maintain reporting systems within the service.
