Purpose of the Job: Develop, support, monitor and review activity relating to specific projects within the Public Health division, providing support and advice to managers across the Directorate, in order to deliver effective project implementation in line with budgets and timescales. Monitor the implications of legislation and local and national initiatives which may impact on the Directorates services and users. Main duties and responsibilities: Deliver a range of projects across the Directorate and across the Public Health division at all stages of the project cycle, as directed by Senior Managers or Members, including project initiation, planning, management and consultation, in order to ensure effective, efficient and high-quality projects within defined processes and to the appropriate timescales. Monitor and evaluate the progress of the project, identifying any scope for improvement to current projects or any problems or constraints as determined by legislation, national and local initiatives, Directorate or County policy etc. in order to develop project briefs which support agreed and changing objectives. Commission and monitor activity, as agreed with Senior Managers, in order to ensure that overall project objectives are met. Maintain regular and effective communication with Senior and Chief Officers, including recommendations and reports on projects in order to ensure that informed decision-making takes place. Develop specialist knowledge of relevant services and initiatives related to the projects to enable informed decision-making throughout the various stages of the project and ensure effective briefing of Members, Senior Officers and all stakeholders. Provide support to the Programme Manager in the planning and monitoring of project budgets to ensure tight financial control and the effective use of resources. Develop and implement contingency plans so that any services affected by the project can continue to be provided if the original plan does not meet particular timescales. Promote the project within KCC and across partnership agencies at a strategic level to ensure full user and stakeholder participation in the development of appropriate initiatives. Prepare a business plan for the Project, to reflect the requirements of any external funding and to ensure the appropriate development of services via targeted projects. Develop, maintain and analyse monitoring and audit information for all stages of the project, in order to ensure that all relevant standards are met. Create new partnerships and maintain existing partnerships with other local and national organisations, to broaden the scope of the project through best practice and information exchange and to maximise potential income opportunities. We are currently recruiting for Security Officer's to join our team at a well-known pharmaceutical business in the Barnstaple area. The job will be to deliver a top-quality security service to the customer, deal with any security incidents and to manage access/egress control to the site.

The role will be to cover a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. This will mean that we are looking for flexibility to work Monday - Sunday, on a day and night shift rotation.

The rate of pay is currently £11.44 per hour.

Security experience is desirable but if you do not have this, please do not worry. We are looking for great communicators, people with great customer service and a drive to succeed! We can support you through your on site training, as well as your SIA training. We will initially cover the cost of the license, with different payment plans in place to suit you!

Your Time at Work
As a Security Officer at G4S, your duties will include:

- Control of ingress/egress of staff, visitors and contractors.
- Emergency and incident response including first aid and fire evacuation.
- Searches of personnel and vehicles.
- Site patrols.
- Data entry and administration.
- Reporting incidents/issues/faults
- Alarm response

Our Perfect Worker
Our perfect worker will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. A good IT knowledge is also key.

You must be flexible and available to work on a varied shift pattern which will include days, nights and weekends.

It would be a benefit to have some security experience and your SIA licence, however it's not essential, as we provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence training.

The post holder will manage and deliver Security and Portering services within the Trust. As a member of the Facilities management team the post holder will be required to support the facilities management business plan through operational delivery of Security and Portering services and assist the Head of Security and Portering to enable them to deliver these services.

They will ensure the Trust achieves compliance with its legal requirements in relation to CCTV and security matters as deemed necessary by the Head of Security & Portering and provide operational advice on how to improve security awareness and systems at all trust properties.


• Provide security and Portering advice within the Trust to staff to ensure the Trust meets its statutory obligations in respect to Security management and Portering standards.
• To ensure resourcing levels are maintained, supporting patient focused delivery, and reducing risk to the Trust.
• Support the Trust objective to reduce and address violence and aggression against staff in accordance with national frameworks.
• Review security and portering incidents in a fair, objective, and professional manner
• To respond to and where necessary investigate incident reports received through the Trust incident management tool (Datix)
• Develop, maintain and review Business Continuity arrangements for security and Portering services.
• To review incidents which have required the use of restraint by security and/or Portering staff to manage an incident.
• To support the maintenance and development of the Trusts security systems (CCTV and Access Control)
• To ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are created, reviewed and maintained in line with Trust policy.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Academic:

A masters degree in civil or structural engineering.

Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council or working towards chartership.

Nuclear:

NUC0793 Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1.
