The role is of a 4 month SHO level trainee in acute medicine.

The role has come about due to a gap in the FY1 rota. The successful applicant will be on the FY1 on call rota which will involve doing take shifts and ward cover on 1 :10 rota.

They will work closely with the multidisciplinary therapy team and will have close supervision and training from the acute medicine consultants. If the post holder is keen to pursue a career in acute medicine, they will be supported and encouraged in gaining subspecialty experience and in applying for a training post if they so wish.

At Charing Cross Hospital, acute medicine has two main ward areas which in total have 60 medical bed of which 13 are monitored and 14 are side rooms. The successful applicants will rotate amongst 4 different consultant led ward rounds. Beyond ward round work, they will have the opportunity to work within the Same Day Emergency Clinic as well as join the medical take.



There will be local teaching on a weekly basis as well as additional trust teaching once a week.



The successful applicant will be supported by both consultant and registrars who will conduct daily ward rounds. There is consultant cover on site from 0800 to 2200.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Trust Grade Doctor (IMT3 equivalent level) within Medicine at CXH. The post-holder will look after acute & general medical inpatients, take part in the general/acute medical on-call rota and participate in outpatient clinics. The post would be ideal for trainees with MRCP having completing CT2/IMT2 who would like to gain more experience as a general/acute medical registrar prior to applying for higher training in a medical specialty. Applications from candidates wishing to undertake less than 100% on-call commitments will be happily considered. The duration of the post will be for 6 months, possible to extent.

The appointed candidate will help manage patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal disease (such as inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, gastrointestinal infection and cancer, motility and functional disorders) along with patients with general medical problems.

They will participate in the acute medical take (including night shifts) and in the ongoing care of patients admitted via the take until their discharge or triage to a different medical team. They will provide out-of-hours ward cover on an on-call rota. They will be expected to take an active role in education, audit and research. This will involve teaching medical students and completing one or more audits / research projects. They will have opportunities to present at departmental meetings, and potentially at the hospital grand round.

North West London Pathology (NWLP) is a partnership between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Trust. The partnership represents a new model for delivering pathology testing in a modern, efficient operation that manages over 30 million tests per year.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trust grade Registrar in Metabolic Medicine to join our friendly and dedicated Blood Sciences team.



The Blood Sciences Department provides acute services to six Hospitals in Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Chelsea and Westminster, St Mary’s, West Middlesex and Hillingdon. Each site has its own local dedicated laboratory. The post holder is expected to participate in the provision of services at any of the Imperial sites.

The post holder will be expected to liaise effectively with the Clinical Lead and Divisional Management Team as required.



The post is a fixed term post to cover a vacancy in the metabolic Medicine / Chemical Pathology rotation and the post holder will be expected to participate in the rolling rota to cover across the three sites. They will also be expected to fill in rota gaps when other trainees are on leave or at teaching events.



This is a non-banded post with no on-call requirement.

The appointees’ prime duties, in conjunction with the other SpRs, will be the provision of a comprehensive and high quality Metabolic medicine/chemical pathology service to the Trust, under the supervision of the Consultant staff.



The appointee will participate in the Rolling rota and fill in gaps when other trainees are on leave or are at teaching events.

The receptionist role is integral to the proper functioning of our outpatient clinics. They welcome our patients, take telephone queries, prep the notes for clinic and ensure that patient outcomes are properly recorded. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical fellow to work within the department of Oncology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNT). Initially it is a 12 month fixed term contract. This post will be part of the clinical oncology post graduate training rotation and provide great learning opportunities in a supportive environment. The role would ideally suit overseas trainees wishing to pursue further training in Clinical Oncology, post completion of local fellowship. ICHNT would provide sponsorship for GMC registration. The post allows flexibility for the doctors to choose their area of research or education, to develop their CV’s or clinical experience.

The successful candidate would gain experience of outpatient clinics, systemic anticancer treatments, radiotherapy planning and acute oncology inpatient services as part of a ward and on-call rota.
