JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct supervision and oversight of all business service functions including but not limited to Financial Services (general accounting, accounts payable, financial reporting, payroll, banking, and cash management), Procurement Services, and the Bursar’s Office. Oversees the implementation, testing, and modifications of all software related to these offices;
Responsible for the preparation and review of the university’s annual financial statements and other required financial reports prior to submission to the University of Arkansas System office and other regulatory agencies;
Coordinate all audit activity for the university, including with the University of Arkansas System’s Internal Audit Department, the State of Arkansas’s Legislative Audit department, and all other audit firms performing work related to UA Little Rock.
Serve as the Workday Finance Lead for the university ensuring effective collaboration with the University of Arkansas System Office in maintaining Workday Finance business processes;
Develop and coordinate ongoing Workday Finance training for campus end-users;
Collaborate with the VCFA to perform analysis of financial data;
Assist the VCFA with campus-wide strategic planning initiatives;
Manage departmental employees, including hiring, supervising, promoting, and implementing appropriate training programs;
Prepare numerous fiscal reports and analyses for both internal management and external officials;
Primary responsibility for ensuring and monitoring post-issuance compliance with tax-exempt bond regulations;

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized and timely manner

The national average salary range for this position is $89,910.00 - $99,900. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $80,820.00 - $119,800/year. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay.

As an Sr. Information Security Engineer I / SIEM Engineer, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by developing threat detection content, building custom dashboards and leverage big data to identify risks. You will fill a new role within our Security Monitoring team of five people within the Enterprise Functions division and participate in an on-call rotation. Your colleagues will include analysts, engineers, and fellow cybersecurity professionals. Your day-to-day work will focus on initiatives and projects designed to drive the maturity of our cybersecurity operations program. Additionally, you will also perform security event investigations along with improving the performance of the SIEM.
Our ideal candidate is a hungry mid-level security engineer who has a strong interest in SIEM. Someone who has supported SIEM technology and is looking for the opportunity to grow their administration experience. This role will provide the opportunity expand our threat detection capabilities including risk-based content with the goal taking on additional ownership and responsibilities as your experience grows.
How you will make an impact:
Monitor security alerts, events, and logs from various security systems, network devices, and applications to identify potential security incidents.
Develop advanced SIEM correlation rules, content, data models, connectors, reports, and dashboards based upon internal and customer requirements to detect emerging threats.
Investigate anomalous or suspicious behavior in the environment as it is identified in the detection engineering process.
Establish trust and business relationships with customer and other relevant stakeholders.
The experience you will bring:
5+ years of experience as a Security Analyst or similar role.
1+ year of Splunk or other SIEM administration experience including developing SIEM correlation rules.
Proven track record of successfully managing and executing on short term and long-term projects.
Flexible and adaptable self-starter with strong relationship-building skills.
What will make you stand out:
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, GCIH, GCDA, GMON or equivalent experience and skills.
The ability to remain calm and work effectively under the pressure of an active cyber incident.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Strong understanding of security operations technologies including SIEM, EDR and orchestration (SOAR). Splunk Enterprise Security, CrowdStrike, and XSOAR experience is a plus.
