Our Ideal Candidate

· 5+ years of experience in security architecture roles, leading complex architectural projects with multiple stakeholders, utilizing various security tools/technologies.

· Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, preferably majoring in cybersecurity.

· Experience on enterprise architecture framework such as TOGAF or SABSA .

· Hands-on experience (coding in Java, JS, Python) ideally full stack development.

· Proven threat modelling experience using STRIDE/MITRE/OWASP and/or other threat modelling methodologies for complex systems (ideally MITRE ATT&CK Defenders (MAD) Certified).

· Experience in networking architecture and/or networking security architecture and/or AWS networking specialty certified / Cisco CCNP Security / etc.

· Deep technical skills with good understanding in cross-functional technologies (IAM, data protection, threat management, vuln management, etc.) ability to dive into technical engineering details.

· Experience in offensive tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), pen-testing / hacking background or (OSCP, CEH master) certified.

· Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to influence relevant stakeholders and decision makers.

Role Specific Technical Competencies

Key Responsibilities

· Security Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor security alerts, logs, and event data from various sources, including EPP, EDR, IPS/IDS, SOC etc.

· Security Incident Response: Develop and execute incident response plans, procedures, and playbooks to facilitate timely and effective response to security incidents. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to contain, eradicate, and recover from security breaches.

· Incident Detection and Response: Detect and investigate security incidents, anomalies, and potential threats to networks, applications, and data. Collaborating with Global SOC team to analyze security breaches, new security vulnerabilities, threats to determine root causes and recommend appropriate remediation actions.

· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and remediation activities. Prepare and present reports, metrics, and dashboards to management and stakeholders to communicate security posture and performance. Document procedures and process as necessary.

· Threat Intelligence Analysis: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and attack techniques by analyzing threat intelligence feeds, security advisories, and industry reports. Use this information to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.

· Strategic Planning: Combining information for group security, IT and business strategy to develop security strategy and planning.

· Security Assessment and Training: Support region-wide activities. Plan and execute security self-assessments, vendor security assessments and annual remediation activities.

Individual capabilities and requirements:

· Degree in Information Technology, or relevant fields

· Security focused industry certification, e.g.: Microsoft Security, GSEC, CEH, etc.

· Security technology : MS security (Azure, O365, ect), Qualys, Tanium, TrendMicro, IAM, AWS, etc.

· 3 years’ experience in Information Technology and at least 2 years in Security

· Hands on experience in security operations & solutions

We are currently recruiting a Security Officer to work on a newly developed site in Wilton

This exciting opportunity will allow you to work on a high-profile site, with a high standard of security needing to be met at all times. The rate of pay is £11.84 per hour.

This is a full-time position benefiting from a 42 hour per week contract working a combination of days, nights and weekends.

Your Time at Work

Calderdale College is seeking to appoint a Security Officer to join our successful Estates & Facilities team, providing customer focused services and excellent facilities to students, staff and commercial customers. Due to the role commitments, this position is full time during the College’s Term Time period and weekends only outside of Term Time, with the primary working days being Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
Experience of working within a fast-paced environment and knowledge of security procedures, reporting and IT systems is essential. It is desirable for the successful candidate to have experience of working with young adults and learners. Candidates should have a good standard of education including Literacy and Numeracy to Level 2, be SIA Licenced and willing to undertake First Aid training whilst at the College.

Job Overview

-To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.

-Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

Main Duties

Operations

-To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.

-To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. The Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.

-Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.

-Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.

-Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.

Training

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
