Hong Tai Construction & Engineering Pte Ltd is looking for a Construction Manager to join the Project Management & Construction team responsible for the build and delivery of a range of projects. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

● Co-ordinate the activities of all work teams on the site to ensure that the project's objectives for cost, time, safety, quality and environmental management are achieved.

● Carry out necessary planning and implement necessary control to ensure that our safety and environmental policies and legislative and contract obligations.

● Ensure project records are accurate and correctly updated and maintained.

● Ensure a site induction process is in place.

● Ensure the quality of project is delivered at a consistently high level and to meet the requirements of the head contract.

● Ensure direct reports are provided with training, coaching and mentoring to ensure maximum performance.

Job Description

• Liaise and assist GM in responding to request for quotation from prospective clients
• Manage and coordinate preparation of pre-tender documentation and response to tender clarifications and amendments involved and attends tender meetings leading to award of tenders
• Prepare contract documents for control and implementation of contract administration and reviews commercial aspects of contract and agreement with clients sub-contractors
• Assist the Project Managers in preparation of monthly progress payment and ensure successful claim of progress payment

· Lead the onsite team ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, environmental and sustainability guideline stipulated by Marina Bay Sands.

· Conduct regular project/contractor meetings to review project progress and the following issues: Current cost projections/change orders issued to date, anticipated “pending” costs, schedule update, requisition review, highlight near term major activities, changes to the project, any other issues deemed appropriate.

· Work with trade contractors to carry out benchmarking for discreet activities so as to agree quality benchmarks.

· Evaluate and assess trade contractor method statements and contract documentation for buildability and provide suitable feedback.

· Liaise with the employer’s safety manager in the development of a site-specific safety plan.

· Prepare detailed, accurate timely project reports including work schedules, implementations, deviations, change in subcontractors, customer issues and other related problems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Higher National Diploma/Degree in Engineering, BArch degree Architecture / built environment or BSc Construction Management discipline as a minimum.

· 5+ years previous work experience as a Construction Manager

· Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies.

· Proven ability to manage and lead a team to build collaboration and efficiency.
