Your new role

• The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for providing clinical direction and strong, professional leadership to all clinical staff including nursing, allied health professionals and medical staff either directly employed or working under practising privileges.
• The Director of Clinical Services must lead and drive the delivery of excellent clinical standards of care within all clinical areas, driving a culture of patient safety, clinical effectiveness and continuous improvement of the patient's experience.
• As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Clinical Services must ensure the hospital team's provision of safe, effective, caring and responsive patient care in a safe, high-quality clinical environment in a way which maximises the financial and operational performance of the hospital. The Director of Clinical Services has a responsibility to ensure all appropriate measures are taken to maintain, promote and safeguard the wellbeing and interests of patients, employees and visitors.

What you'll need to succeed

• Registered Nurse Level 1 or Registered practitioner / Diploma / relevant Health Speciality Degree/ Degree Level qualification
• Evidence of relevant professional development, both clinically and managerially, preferably evidenced by a registered qualification with the NMC, HCPC or GPC
• Ability to motivate a team of clinical professionals
• Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems
• Knowledge of NHS Standard Contract requirements
• Experience of working in the Independent Sector

The role
The Director of Strategic Partnerships will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to establish and cultivate strategic partnership relationships with biotechs and Contract Research Organisations (CROs). Position Summary: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program Director is a regular ranked faculty member of the School of Nursing who is responsible for the oversight of the PMHNP program for all SMU campuses. • Provides consultation to the CCT regarding dates, deadlines, submission and return of required forms that are essential to student placements in clinical site.
• Serves as supervisor for all program faculty and preceptors.
• Recommends changes in University and School of Nursing policies and procedures as needed.
• Authors reports (e.g. program evaluation, contributions to accreditation) as related to the PMHNP program.
• Provides input to budget formation related to the PMHNP program.
• Serves as an excellent example of customer service for coordinators, faculty, and students.
• Reviews survey data and identifies action steps to implement changes in support of continuous program quality improvement.
• Attends university ceremonies and events that are related to the PMHNP program.

Students

• Oversees PMHNP student recruitment and admission.
• Oversees the development and implementation of student program orientation including didactic and clinical courses; processes, procedures, expectations, and consequences.
• Facilitates informal resolutions to student disputes after course faculty and coordinators have intervened.
• Communicates issues regarding student performance to program administrators on an ongoing, basis.

Faculty

• Oversees the hiring of qualified faculty.
• Oversees faculty course assignment.
• Oversees faculty development.
• Completes annual faculty evaluation for PMHNP faculty.

Clinical Practice and or scholarship (20%)

• Maintains clinical competency and currency by engaging in practice as a PMHNP.
• Serves as clinical preceptor for PMHNP students as appropriate.

Teaching (30%) *

• Creates a dynamic, learner-centered environment that uses a variety of teaching methods based on educational theory and evidence-based teaching and clinical practices that support the diverse learning needs of the student population.
• Models reflective and critical thinking and serves as a coach and mentor for students; confers with them on their progress and assists them in the development of learning plans to facilitate successful achievement of course objectives.
• Maintains and enhances competence in subjects being taught.
• Confers with colleagues to assure the integrity of the courses across programs and the curriculum as a whole.
• Prepares and reviews written examinations, papers, and student projects; supervises independent study projects as needed and evaluates learner performance in both the classroom and clinical settings.
• Notifies Course Manager of at-risk students or unusual occurrences.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP), eligible for licensure in California
• Nationally board certified as a PMHNP.
• Earned doctorate in nursing (DNP, PhD, DNSc, DNS, EdD).
• At least three years of experience in advanced practice nursing.
• At least two years of progressive experience in teaching in graduate nursing.
• Experience with online educational delivery preferred.
• Experience in academic administration preferred.

This is a strategic role working across operational clinical services within the Tavistock and Portman Foundation Trust, to support the successful delivery of care in the following key areas:


• Service users, implementing evidence-based practice, and contributing further to the knowledge base by evaluation of practice, and implementation of innovation.

• Reporting on learning from serious incidents and complaints to the service Leadership Team

The Associate Director for Clinical Governance will work closely with the Clinical Directors, Director of Operations, Associate Director of Nursing and the Associate Director of Quality; along with service managers and clinical leads.

The post holder will lead and support initiatives for quality and oversee all areas of clinical governance including patient safety, patient experience, safeguarding, effectiveness, operational CQC preparation for clinical services, safeguarding, Infection Prevention and Control, clinical risk and clinical audit.

The post holder will liaise regularly with the service patient and public involvement team and have a strong focus on supporting user involvement and co-production.

The post holder will provide advice on the development of improvement plans following audits, incidents and serious incidents and closely monitor progress against these plans within clinical services.

• Support clinical leads to develop and implement clinical policies and guidance in line with trust-wide/national and quality standards (e.g. NICE guidelines).

• Provide regular updates to the Patient Safety Lead in line with designated portfolios of work.

• Review and adjust existing strategies for quality and clinical governance, in line with national, local and Trust operational priorities, monitoring any improvement as services develop/the context changes.

This will be achieved through staff engagement and empowering and enabling staff to improve the quality of care delivered to our patients and local community. • Provide advice and recommendations to support staffing of clinical governance management and quality agendas.
• To lead on the management of concerns and complaints promoting local resolution and learning across the organisation. To manage and promote the trust-wide complaints handling process within divisions. Actively support, monitor and oversee the completion of action plans from complaint investigations.
• Ensure services have robust reporting and monitoring processes in place, which facilitate true learning from incidents and complaints, in order to provide assurance to internal and external bodies.
• Responsible for any delegated budgetary responsibility in relation to quality and clinical governance, in line with the requirements of the clinical service line and Executive Director’s request

How you’ll make an impact as a Hospice Director Clinical Services (Registered Nurse/RN)

• Supervise patient and family care as specified by the plan of care, assessing appropriateness, continuity, service, and quality of care

Be an effective member of the Pharmacy Strategic Leadership Team and support the Clinical Director of Pharmacy in the delivery and further development of the Trust Pharmacy Service and Medicines Optimisation Strategic Plan. Lead Clinical Pharmacy Services across the Trust acting as an expert and role model in clinical pharmacy service provision and medicines optimisation. Be accountable for the safe and effective delivery, and on-going development, of a high-quality evidence-based Clinical Pharmacy Service across hospital sites and community services. Identify risks and gaps within Clinical Pharmacy Services and develop and implement plans to address these. Measure, monitor and optimise the performance of Clinical Pharmacy Services. This will include the development of key performance indicators, reports and interactive dashboards from the Trust ePMA and Pharmacy systems. Be responsible for workforce planning and development within Clinical Pharmacy Services, including the development of Consultant Pharmacist and Advanced Clinical Practice posts.
