Delivery of the annual patient improvement priorities, covering patient experience, patient safety and clinical outcomes in collaboration with the divisional medical director. Contribute to the development of the trusts nursing, midwifery and AHP strategy and ensure full implementation in the division to ensure consistent high-quality performance. Participation in the setting of a clear strategic direction including service development, delivery, and financial control for the division with members of the senior divisional management team. In collaboration with the medical directors lead, divisional responsibility for ensuring the delivery of the quality contract schedule, including CQUIN, working in partnership with the medical director and other clinical and managerial staff. In collaboration with the medical director, ensure year on year improvement in delivery of the quality improvement priorities and ensure all local and national targets are achieved. Ensure the division has a comprehensive assurance framework providing confidence to the divisional senior management team that all key priorities are being monitored and delivered in the care group. Ensure the divisional risk registers are kept up to date, are monitored on a regular basis and have detailed mitigation plans or are escalated to the exec risk review group as appropriate. Be accountable and responsible for the professional leadership of nurses/midwives/health professionals and ensure there are robust communication pathways to ensure all staff are aware of relevant professional issues. Maintain high visibility in the clinical areas observing care in practice and develop a work plan that ensures a minimum of 20% of working time is spent in clinical areas. Provide relevant coaching, monitoring and supervision of staff as required. Lead on skill mix reviews, annual workforce plan and workforce redesign for the nursing and AHP workforce, working closely with relevant clinical leads and managers.
