Manager – Communications & Content is a position that reports directly to the Director Communications & Marketing. Responsible for communications and content management, the manager and his/her team will play a critical role in delivering the value provided by Star Alliance to the member airlines. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in communications and content creation functions.
This job opportunity is based in Singapore.
The Communications & Marketing business unit consists of marketing, communications, branding, social media and events management functions. The team focuses on improving the visibility and the awareness of Star Alliance’s brand.
This is a high-profile role for the successful candidate to manage Star Alliance’s external and internal communications and marketing functions.
Job Summary
External Communications & PR:
- Strategy: Develop and implement an effective PR strategy to achieve goals.
- Media Relations: Cultivate positive relationships with journalists, bloggers, and key outlets. Draft press releases and other materials to communicate key messages.
- Collaboration: Team up with the marketing and branding colleagues to develop visually appealing materials. Collaborate with events manager to identify industry event participation opportunities and contribute to the overall events strategy.
- Agency Management: Manage relations with the PR agencies and identify global and regional opportunities throughout the year. Curate appropriate media materials in collaboration.
- Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyse share of voice and other metrics, and engage tools as appropriate. Provide regular reports as required.
- Crisis Communications: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively mitigate reputational risks.
Internal Communications/Member airlines direct communications:
- Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communication strategy, for Star Alliance employees as well as thousands of colleagues across the 26 member airline, developed and executed in collaboration with communications colleagues at member airlines.
- Content Creation: Create engaging and informative content for various internal communication channels, including newsletters. Collaborate with relevant teams to gather information and ensure accuracy in materials.
- Change Management Communication: Support change initiatives by developing communication plans that effectively convey changes. Assist in maintaining a positive and informed atmosphere during periods of change.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the HR team to ideate and produce appropriate material and identify opportunities to adopt a healthy internal communications flow.
Content Creation:
- Content Strategy: Develop a cohesive content strategy in collaboration with the Marketing & Branding Manager and Social Media Manager to ensure unified messaging and alignment with company objectives.
- Website Content: Lead the creation and maintenance of content for the company website. Work closely with product managers to develop content relevant to their areas. Coordinate with the IT team to facilitate seamless publishing of website content.
Your Profile
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in a PR and/or Content Management role
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- Strong understanding of global and regional media landscape.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in communications tools and analytics.
- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
- High level of proficiency in English is essential, as it is the sole language used for communication with Star Alliance Member Airlines and other external stakeholders.
