Position Summary
• As Vice President - Finance you will be responsible for the strategic day-to-day running of the finance operations, with a key focus on statutory compliance, disciplined cash flow management and prioritising and achieving margin improvements. You will oversee the finance team, as well as working closely with the CEO and Departmental Heads.
Primary Responsibilities
• Ensure overall integrity, accuracy & timely preparation of the General Ledger, owning all aspects of financial accounting transactions, and financial reporting, covering Income Statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement.
• Develop and implement a strong financial strategy that aligns with the company’s vision & objective. This includes Short & long term financial planning & forecasting. Create and manage budgets, and running a regular cadence forecast to ensure the organisation remains on track with its goals
• Monitoring of day-to-day financial operations and cash flow transactions such as payroll (Australia and International), invoicing, supplier and receivable transactions. Includes Managing our global employees' payroll; be familiar with international payroll & our Internal finance process
• Weekly cashflow management reporting, taking into account multiple funding sources, legacy challenges and a multitude of reporting entities
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, including tax laws and financial accounting standards (AASB and IFRS )
• Assess and manage mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including financial due diligence and post-transaction integration. Includes leading of the Finance ERP system migration from Xero to Sage Intact
• Identify areas where cost savings can be achieved and implement cost control measures to improve the organization's financial efficiency.
• Collaborate with the CEO, and other senior executives to make strategic financial decisions that drive the organization's growth and success.
• Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate finance processes and internal controls to support the efficient and effective operation of the Finance function. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement & best practices
• Performance management of the overall finance team, including Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, Payroll Specialist, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Administrator
• Coordinate external audits and financial reviews with auditors, ensuring the completion of accurate and reliable audit reports.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors, on annual income tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This may include income tax, sales tax, and other tax reporting requirements.
• Review and sign of monthly, quarterly & yearly GST, Fringe Tax Benefit, and R&D tax returns and claims
• Develop strong and collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with senior executive teams, key stakeholders & Board of Directors on company financials, strategies, challenges and solutions.
Qualifications and Key Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting &/or finance, CPA or ACCA qualification or finalist preferred
• Experience in the consolidation of group Income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement across various entities in multiple countries.
• Expertise in key SaaS metrics, such as customer lifetime value (CLV), monthly recurring revenue (MRR), churn rate, and customer acquisition cost (CAC).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role in Australia or Overseas.
• Knowledge of software licensing models and revenue recognition methods in compliance with accounting standards, including ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers).
• Adherence to Leighton O’Brien policies, procedures and processes at all times & ability to represent and role model LOB culture and values.
• Experienced in financial due diligence, Merger and integration of international acquisitions and Migration of ERP system.
