The Assistant Director for Student Affairs manages and helps to ensure the successful execution of all aspects of the overall administrative planning and functioning of the School of Medicine’s Office of Student Affairs, to include meeting deadlines for time-critical activities managed by OSA that impact many aspects of student’s progress and success, both academic and non-academic, throughout all four years of medical school.

The Patient Access Representative (PAR) I position is an entry-level role. The PAR I performs basic functions as outlined below:
Performs outpatient and inpatient registration functions and provides general information to hospital users, patients and families. Ensures that patients meet financial requirements. Provides excellent patient focused customer service. Communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working in customer service role or successful completion of the UH Patient Access Rep/Patient Scheduler Apprentice Program
Communication skills required to interview patients and families, to gather and exchange information with other hospital staff members, physicians, third party payors and resource persons
Concise written communication skills and keyboarding skills required.
Must observe in all Patient Access areas and successfully pass a Patient Access Representative II competency exam within one year of hire date.
If employee has experience in patient access service, for consideration for the Patient Access Representative II position, employee must complete all Patient Access Representative II competencies after a 90-day evaluation period.
Must possess the ability to read, analyze and interpret clinical or business account information, financial and legal documents.
Must have the ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, staff and members of the business community. Must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Must have the ability to deal with concrete and abstract concepts and interpret verbal, nonverbal and written instructions.
Preferred:
1. Two years’ experience with patient contact

Provides social work services to patients/residents in acute, ambulatory or long term care settings. Services to patients/residents and their families include: identification of psychosocial needs, psychosocial assessment, pre-admission screening and admitting services for long term care patients, discharge planning, crisis intervention, information and referral, protective services, and patient/resident education. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team for patient/resident care. General Description:
Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects and/or diseases.
