ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Finance Associate to join the Finance team and contribute to a fast-paced team with ample opportunity to grow with the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Periodic financial closing and reporting (monthly, quarterly and annually), ensure accurate and timely submission of group financial reports;Preparation of monthly journals and balance sheet schedules
  In charge of consolidation, AR billing process
  Reviewer role for AP entries
  Partnering with SCM on PR/PO/delivery related matters
  Performing flux analysis on financial reports
  
• Preparation of quarterly and yearly income tax computations and ensure compliance with relevant tax authorities
• Preparation of annual financial statements (including preparation of XBRL)
• Act as key liaise person with external auditors
• Support in financial areas and work with cross-functional teams
• In-charge of projects such as process improvement and/or system migration as assigned
• Review submissions to governmental and other regulatory bodies (i.e. GST submission, government statistics surveys, grants claim preparation) and
• All ad-hoc tasks as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or related field
• Minimum 3-4 years of Big 4 audit experience
• Strong understanding of accounting standards
• Proactive, experience in problem solving and analysis
• Able to work independently and possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in start-up environment

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in financial reporting for public listed companies will be a plus
• Industry experience will be a plus
• Meticulous, organised and attention to detail

I. Financial Accounting:

- Handle full set of accounts

- Purchase Invoice accounting, payment to supplier

- Custodian of Cash and Bank Payments and Bank Reconciliation

- Customer Accounts review and receipt of Payment and Reconciliation

- Prepare GST information for quarterly GST report / filing

- Prepare monthly management / financial reports

- Prepare supporting schedules, including month-end and year-end closing

- Audit Schedules and General Ledger Review

- Assist Audit process and preparation of Reports etc.

II. Reporting:

- Track & analyse business and operation performance on a regular basis to guide business decision making

- Collaborate with stakeholders and identify opportunities to drive business growth, efficiency, process improvements, and cost savings

- Monthly business performance reporting

- Prepare analysis on an ad hoc basis as required.

Requirement:

- Degree in Accountancy, Finance or ACCA

- Minimum 3 to 5 years accounting experience in financial accounting/reporting

- Have experience in manufacturing company

- Able to work under pressure and meet accounting deadlines

- Analytical and meticulous for details

- High integrity and able to work independently

- A team player who is self-motivated

Job Description

Ares is a leading participant in the global alternative credit markets with approximately $36.0 billion of assets under management (“AUM”) invested across multiple, actively-managed funds as of December 31, 2023. The Alt Credit Team today comprises approximately 70 investment professionals located primarily in three Ares offices: New York City, Atlanta and London. 

Ares’ Alt Credit platform employs strategies that are asset-focused, making investments backed by assets and contractual cash flows such as loans, leases and receivables. Alt Credit fills gaps in the capital markets between credit, private equity and real estate, investing across a spectrum of liquid and illiquid opportunities that include various specialty finance sectors, net leases, structured products, cash flow streams (e.g., royalties, licensing, management fees), and other asset types. 

Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented team player to join as an Associate on the Alternative Credit (“Alt Credit”) Team in the Atlanta office, focused on Asset Management.

The position will be responsible for monitoring and on-going surveillance of Alternative Credit portfolio investments, developing and running complex discounted cash flow models, monitoring and reporting on various portfolio-level metrics, providing assistance to deal teams with assigned investments and general asset management including fundings, settlements, valuation and reporting.

The nature of the team’s investment process and dynamic environment necessitates that a candidate have strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, a professional demeanor, along with sharp analytical skills relevant to structured investments.

Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead asset management of structured investments
• Monitor portfolio of private investments
• Provide support to deal teams with assigned investments
• General asset management including confirming fundings, processing monthly settlements, valuation and other asset-level reporting
• Frequent communication with portfolio companies
• Develop and run complex models for valuation and reporting purposes
• Perform mark-to-market valuations
• Analyzing asset-level trends and metrics 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required or international equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field
• Strong intellect with solid communication, quantitative, financial and analytical skills
• 5-7+ years of finance or accounting experience with exposure to structured finance/securitization preferred

• Advanced MS Excel modeling skills (index + match, macros, and array formulas)
• Intermediate MS PowerPoint skills

Reporting Relationships

Compensation

$145,000-180,000

Key Responsibilities :

• Ensure Accounts Receivables are updated daily into the system and all documents is properly filled.
• Monitor and follow up with customers to ensure timeliness and effectiveness in collection and meeting of collection targets.
• Analyze customers’ payment pattern and trend.
• Ensure month end closing on Account Receivables are as scheduled.
• Conduct regular credit control reviews of key customers.
• Weekly reporting and meeting with the team to resolve any AR related issues.
• Prepare Debtor Aging Report, Debtor Statement, and other reports as deemed necessary.
• Follow up with Sales Team members on verbal orders.
• Undertake any other task as and when assigned.

Job Requirement :

• Diploma in Accounting / Business Administration
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to take initiative and prioritize
• Willing to work in fast paced and multi-task environment
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
