The role will primarily require the Manager to support the team on direct client work including client relationship management and managing project workstreams including research and analysis, report writing and design, advisory to organisations, and where required, organising events like workshops, roundtable discussions, and presentations. The Manager will work directly with the Co-Founders on project delivery and will also be expected to manage junior team members, consistent with RIA’s values. Also, the Manager will support the development of RIA as we continue to build the team and our operations.
RIA’s projects cover diverse thematic areas including education, public health, environment, and philanthropy ecosystem engagement and potentially many more. The regions cover Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and wider Asia. Hence, the team needs to be very adept at switching between topics, learning very quickly on new topics, country systems, and models and frameworks.
The Manager can look forward to a dynamic work experience, engaging with partners and clients not only in Asia, but across the world! They can also expect some travel with the work.
What do you need to be good at this?
● Six years of more of professional experience, with at least four years in strategy consulting including at least one year as Manager/Engagement Manager/Project Leader
● Demonstrated interest in the social sector/ solving complex social challenges
● Proven ability to engage in strategic issues
● Significant experience in both process and project management in international context, across various countries and demographics, but especially in Asia.
● Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills, with specific knowledge and experience with social/innovative finance structuring.
● Outstanding interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to build client relationships
● Ability to effectively supervise/manage team members
● Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to assist in building our quickly growing office
● Candidates should demonstrate exceptional writing skills, through prior writing experience with research papers, reports, newsletters and/or op-ed articles.
● Resourceful in understanding how to conduct effective primary and secondary/desktop research, especially in and able to process the information and present the findings in a meaningful way for analysis and communication.
● Skilled at summarising information in a clear and concise manner, with the ability to understand what is important and key in discussions.

● Ability to speak/read/write other Asian languages, e.g. Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, Thai.
