The Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and materials availability for one of the Value Streams at our plant in West Chester, PA. This position is critical to the success of our customers and to enabling the Value Stream to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) established for Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost (SQDC). Strong analytical capability, exceptional communication skills, and effective use of the Regal Business System (RBS) tools to continually improve our processes and the team’s performance is necessary to be successful in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
Plan and schedule all production activities for the Value Stream to determine and ultimately meet our Promise Dates to customers.
Manage our internal and external Kanban system for the Value stream to ensure materials availability to execute the plan.
Place releases for Purchased Components in our Material Requirements Planning system.
Work closely with our Sourcing Team and internal suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of components and assemblies.
Work closely with Supervisors to ensure the deployment of direct labor will enable successful execution of the production plan.
Work closely with centralized functions including Sales, Customer Service, Sourcing, New Product Development, Quality, and Shipping to ensure all customer needs are addressed and Promise Dates are met.
Drive sense of urgency and effective problem-solving to identify root cause and build sustainable countermeasures to meet KPIs.
Create a build plan that is visually communicated to team members and is easy to understand.
Responsible for maintaining inventory levels and inventory accuracy within the Value Stream to support the production plan and avoid excess material.
Utilize the Regal Rexnord Business System methodology to continuously improve our processes; via Daily Management and by leading and facilitating Kaizen events.
